City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

One of the season ticket holders on our row had to sell his ticket on last night and the lad who bought it was telling us that he had told his parents he had to come to Uni in Manchester because he wanted to get to as many City matches as possible.

Now, do you class him as a tourist or do we say well done young man keep up the good work? ;-)

Excellent that is one way of getting new blood into the club. For a lot of fan's this is how it started, being dragged/ persuaded along to a game by mates, not everyone comes from a football mad family. This is why a lot of clubs are struggling to attract new fans as well though. When I was a kid I could hop onto a bus, coach or train and as long as I had the money I could watch any game I wanted. There was no memberships or purchase history you just paid at the turnstile.

Rule of thumb: if you weren't with the 38000 blues at York on the 19th December 1998, then you're a tourist

My daughter did exactly the same, although already a season ticket holder she wanted to go to Manchester uni so not to miss any games . I brought her up well.

This is so easy to fix I reckon; introduce a reward system for staying until the end (perhaps money off of the ticket) and then also make it mandatory that st holders get to at least 80% of games (Whether it be them or a mate who goes because they can't make it) to retain their season ticket next time.
Probably get blasted for that but there we go

How would the cub know who has stayed until the end?

It's blatantly season ticket holders.

On another note, good to see so many stay tonight.
If only more fans used ticket exchange. I was unable to get to the Palace and Leicester games so put my seat up for sale and on both occasions it sold within the hour. If all season ticket holders did that we'd hardly ever have empty seats.

2 of my friends went to Vegas and missed the last 2 home games
1 tried to sell himself less than face value. And no joy
The other put his on ticket exchange and his seat was sold for both games.

About £65 of his renewal

Maybe making it mandortory if you can't attend?

If you don't attend and you don't add it then you eventually get it taken off you.

If you do put it on and it doesn't sell then no punishment.

a lot of our older fans dont use the internet/ have no idea how to put tickets on ticket exchange, so i dont see how that would work.

Come off it, you not seen the oldies on here like PB?

Make a telephone option too so you can ring it in.

obviously lots of older people can use it. however lots dont, my 85 year old GF'S city attending nana and grandad have no idea how to use a computer, a lot of older people are the same. a telephone option could be good.
