Sam Lee's just answered me back on his facebook live feed. I asked him if there was any truth behind a possible World Record attempt for Neymar or Mbappe and he said he believe's there could be and said were definitely interested in Mbappe and Neymar, he definitely wouldn't be surprised because he's getting touted for a big move. Sorry if it's already been said by an ITK or something but I hardly read through the Mbappe thread.
 
You can't commit to keeping a player, and then effectively bench him for the season. The purchases of Jesus, Sane and now Silva address our attacking play. I'll be surprised if any more attacking midfielders or forwards are added to the squad. There was a doubt about Aguero, but that's gone now. Khaldoon could not have been more clear.

Can't see that happening. Sadly we can't buy anyone. Someone is going to get Mbappe. I think it will be Real Madrid in 12 months time when they move to replace Ronaldo (assuming Mbappe is still playing well)

If Kun wants to move he still will regardless of what has been said so far IMO hence us talking to Neymar's and Mbappe's camps

"He believes there could be", how fucking ITK is that?
 
Eventually we are going to have to outbid Real Madrid for the worlds best players to actually over take them. As long as they always get the players they want, they will be ahead of everyone else.

In the long run... yes.

But this window is just before a world cup - very good young players - who might fear that they're unable to displace current Madrid/Barca/Bayern starters - and seeing our need to imrpove in certain positions - may well sign for us instead of the aforementioned clubs feeling that they'd outclass any players we have in their position.

It's not just what we're prepared to pay for a player, is it? It also comes down to where a player wants to play. At the moment it's a sad fact for us that most top players would like to play for either of the Spanish giants if they got the chance. We have to climb the greasy pole slowly as we have been doing since the takeover and wait for the day when we too have a similar profile to the Reals of this world before we can start to think of outbidding them on a level playing field.

You are right off course that this is not just about money. But it is also about money. All I am saying is that we need to start accepting shelling out insane amounts of money to get the galacticos, who otherwise would go to either Real or Barca. Real have been breaking world records for ages, and that is a precondition for them being in the position they are today.

But you have to get your boring corner pieces and the straight edges correct correct before you work on the best pieces
