If it doesn't occur to working class voters that they are being manipulated by oligarchs via servile politicians and corrupt media outlets, then what use is explaining it? And things such as the systematic running down of NHS with an endgame of privatisation is in plain view. How could you not support something which was so hard won by your forefathers? Something so important for the next generation. It's disgraceful.

You tell 'em nico.

What he says is true though. You don't see much calling Corbyn a cnut or evil or any of the other shit that's thrown over from the left side of the fence at May. You don't see people on the right calling anyone on the left who votes labour, "a disgrace".

Why all the vitriol from the lefties? Is it years of pent up frustration in opposition, I wonder? Since half of them regard Tony Blair and Gordon Brown as Tories, I suppose some of them have been waiting for 40 years for a Corbyn.

don't talk bollocks you tory loving shit for brains..

I read these posts, with despair can we please get to the real Marxist world that Corbyn believes in. Growth of the economy does not figure in the mantra.
It is all about state control of everything. Anybody who has read Marx and Engels would know the stock market would be the first thing a true Socialist would close down.
It is everything the true Socialist would not want is to see foreign or indeed, any investment in our country. Clause four, in itself, dictates that state ownership is the order of the day.
The state in charge of all our lives is the ultimate. The freedom all the people now enjoy would be a thing of the past. Total dependency on the state, will follow.
Why do you think people wanted to escape from communist east Germany, why do you think the destruction of the Berlin Wall was met with such joy.
Be very careful what you wish for my fellow Citizens, because if you vote for a man, who is clearly anti capitalist, appeaser of murderers and will bankrupt the country, a decade of misery the country has never known since the thirties will surely follow.
We need to control immigration, we have enough people in this country to deliver all it needs, it is a lie that we need immigrants to fulfill this. We did not need immigration between 1939 to 1945 to keep our country mobilised against the German threat. We do not need it now. It is true that immigrants have filled gaps in our NHS, but that is down to our failure to train up our population. Are we saying that among our 65 million population we cannot train enough people to fulfil our needs? Total nonsense.
Please do not vote for a anti British party who will wreak havoc amongst the people I love, yes I love you all, if what I fear could happen, happens, you will see the end of forums like this, yes I have read Mark and Engels it is not the society you guys would want to live in, please believe me.
All the best to you all. Peggy.

Ipsos mori now has it 45%C 40%L.

The striking thing is just how big those numbers are for both parties. It was 37%/30% last time and 36%/29% in 2010. The other parties, apart from the SNP, have fallen off of a cliff.

If it stays like that it will be fascinating to see how those extra votes translate into seats.
Those figures you have for the previous elections are the votes cast.

What were the polls?

How can Labour's approach to corporate taxation possibly be right at the present time? We're about to leave the EU and single market so let's jack up corporation tax. What's that going to do to growth? Its insane.
There is no direct correlation between corporate tax rates and growth. It's as simple as that. Growth depends on a number of factors, in which corporate taxation may play a part. One linked factor is how much companies invest when they have higher retained profits but as productivity has largely been stagnant in the UK, while corporation tax has fallen, that hasn't been happening. So clearly companies have been saving cash rather than investing it. That doesn't help anyone.

Spain's rate is 28% yet their growth was higher than ours in 2016. Growth was also far higher when corporate tax rates were double what they are now.

but as productivity has largely been stagnant in the UK, while corporation tax has fallen, that hasn't been happening
Go on, back this up. But make it good as I've got the figures and a graph to hand.

Define stagnant, because my graph goes up nicely when corporation tax drops.
