93.20 Documentary

Loved Henry Winter's comment;
"The Press stewards at City are always very welcoming, but they are just diehard blues. And you'd shake their hand and look them in the eye and wish them luck, and you could just see the nerves".

Just a pity they didn't confirm what all right thinking blues know to be a fact; it was Tyler who said "stupendous".

My word. Just seen the media and fan parts of this doc.

Just no words. Just no words at all. I want to watch it again and again.

What a special team that we had assembled. Also, I miss Balo. I slagged him a bit for the theatrics but Balo gave us swagger. And many goals. And one BIG ASSIST. LOL, one assist all season and that was it. THAT IS JUST SO BALO!!

I think I enjoyed the media one the most. Nice to see non city fans telling their story of that day.

Posted this elsewhere two weeks ago or so -- I agree, the media one was probably the most interesting. Very well done:

Was able to see all 4 parts at a special screening tonight at the cinema and solely from a production perspective (i.e. How the clips were presented), I think that the Media one was maybe the best of the bunch.

They did a great job with the part that focused on the fans -- interviewed quite a few of the ones who became famous immediately afterwards (the cute girl who teared up and fanned her face, the angry fella who slammed his coat against the seat, some others).

Lastly, the staff part with all the insight from those folks who had prepared for the title celebration all week only to think it was for naught was really great and unique. It was a perspective that you frankly just don't often get. It was nice to see our old friend Snapper Shaz again as well.

Wow. Watched all of them, brilliant stuff. really evokes the emotions of the day. It really was a once in a lifetime moment. Damn, must be my allergies.....

Thought Guy Mowbray had a brilliant line when he said to his producer when Dzeko scored "Well this is City, that just makes it worse" and I remember at the time being pissed off thinking the exact same thing, typical of city to score just to keep a glimmer of hope alive so they can dash it again.

It was an extraordinary season. There were some amazing games, United beating Arsenal 8-2, Dzeko scoring 4 in a 5-1 away win at Spurs, 6-1 at Old Trafford, Van Persie's hattrick at Chelsea, Utd 4-4 Everton, which got us back in the title race, Balotelli's last minute penalty against Spurs to win 3-2, our 3-3 draw with Sunderland, Swansea beating Arsenal, etc. Moments of controversy; Suarez racially abusing Evra, and Liverpool wearing those shirts, Terry also getting banned for racial abuse, the protests at Blackburn's owners, and Tevez getting banished, then returning. The way we seemed on our way to the title, then had a midseason wobble, especially that defeat at Arsenal with Balotelli getting sent off, and United going 7 points clear, it all looked over, only for Wigan to beat them for the first team ever in their history, combined with us beating West Brom on the same day, and we found ourselves back in it. All of this building up to the climax in May, where you also had a tight relegation battle. I once saw one of those Premier League years shows that are Skysports every now and then, where they show all the highlights from a particular season, and one of those was on 11/12. It just didn't do it justice in my opinion. There was so much missed out.
It's the best season ever. There's never been such a incident and big score packed season and the way it ended - the last five games for us and the Rags were like a rollercoaster!

Not to mention the number of times we got absolutely stiffed by referees. Between the 6-1 and about the beginning of March we barely got a free kick.

Are these planned to come together in 1 feature length documentary or are they going to stay as a series of youtube shorts focusing on the different people involved?

I miss Sharon. She had good rapport with the players. She's one of our own, she's one of our own, her name is sharon, she's one of our own. CityTV have and always produce quality stuff. Long may it continue
