A CB is clearly not a priority (that doesn't mean we wont sign one); obviously another attacking MF, a goal keeper and fullbacks are where Pep wants to spend the bulk of the money this summer. Along with Alexis Sanchez, those positions we need top signings for. My point was that because Kompany has played without injury and played well, a top CB signing is not necessary. I believe we will sign a CB this summer (I hope we do) but imo it doesn't need to a 60m/ Kompany replacement signing. Someone like Pepe from Real Madrid would be a great CB signing on a free transfer this summer, small 2 year contract. Then bring in left-footed CB Lucas Hernandez next summer from Atletico...

Van Dijk, although not the be all and end all of options in that position, is still a superb player and going from seeing his name linked with us to reading mentions of Mangala on here again is depressing.
Yes, Otamendi has been in good form and yes, I believe Stones will eventually go on to become a top level centre back but our quality in that department more or less hinges on Kompany staying fit and that's not good enough for a team wanting to compete at the top.
