Don't answer you I am afraid after your almost support / sympathy for Isis last week.

And I despise Corbyn for many other reasons than his terrorists apologists stance.

This country's governments have shook the hands of many terrorist nations, done back door arms deals with the very ones they condemn openly and occupied land and killed thousands and thousands of innocent for the addiction to oil.

Do you believe this country is innocent of terrorism...?

Not if done properly. This is like saying we shouldn't use nuclear because it might meltdown
Ha I was joking really. I don't know if it undermines land stability.

Personally I don't think nuclear is worth the risk because of meltdown - the effects are so extremely damaging and last way too long for a tiny island such as us. We should be moving towards full-scale clean energy, it just needs an intelligent effort taking into account all the variable issues around it. For the same reason, I wonder if it's possible to relocate the subs from Scotland to somewhere like the Shetlands (I don't know if other reasons mean that wouldn't be the best idea though).

How do you think we will beat the latest wave of terrorism? Military action? Police state? Censorship?

You should read Jonathan Powell's Talking to Terrorists book.

I'm a nuclear guy. Clean energy isn't there in terms of cost/efficiency yet. Nuclear is mainly a PR problem, if we were all just sensible that's where all the energy investment would be going.

I've always wondered if we could use islands. I know we think of the British Isles as Great Britain and Ireland but there's hundreds of Islands in the UK. Wonder if they could support a nuclear plant?

Also, the shit with Qatar and Saudi at the moment is the worst political bullshit ive seen in the region.

Please dont forget what started the "civil war" in Syria.
Qatar pipeline - No
Iran pipeline - Yes
West involves itself in Syria
Qatar blamed for helping terrorists

UK, US and Saudi take over Qatar and run the original pipeline after demolishing 2 countries and murdering 10s of thousands of people????????

Certainly looks the way its headed. Shame we can see the endings now. Much more exciting when we believed The Sun and the BBC

Just watching newsnight and Eric Pickles was asked what Mrs Mays biggest weakness was. "She's not at all good at negotiating. If you suggest something she likes she'll back you, but she's really poor at trade-offs and trying to reach a consensus". That's quite encouraging then!!
And he said her major strengths were delegating and the analysis of "business cases" presented by others. Which as David Davis is actually doing most if the negotiations looks pretty good to me.

What's wrong with fracking?
Because by now I thought we might've learned our lessons with and kicked the habit of fossil fuels. There is still huge potential in sustainable, clean resources. We should strive to become a world leader in those.

Y'know shit like that.

Please tell me why it's such a great idea.

I'm voting Labour because..

I believe that, especially now we're leaving the EU, we need to take back control of our utilities and railways. If the rest of Europe can and do run their, and our, railways and utilities, then there is NO reason we can't. To say anything else is IMO anti-British. Fuck the 70s, this is the 21st century and we can do it for the benefit of us all. And do you know what, it will make us money!

I want an end to tax cuts to big corporations and the most wealthy. I'd be more than prepared to pay more tax for better services. It will make money. If the rich run away, we chase them.

I want us to fund social care for an ageing population, rather than have a lottery depending on what disease you happen to get and how much you're worth.

I want an end to Austerity because it hurts the weakest the most, and IMO it isn't working. More of the same? No thanks. A prime example being the spending of £1.6Bn (to a private American company) to "save" £1.3Bn to investigate disability claimants, amongst whom suicide rates have risen. Yeah that went well.

I want fracking banned.

I want homelessness eradicated. It is a stain on our nation. These people need help. Get them off the streets, get them the care they need, get them the education they need. Once off the streets the will mostly get back to work and make us money.

I want us to build enough affordable homes which has been woefully lacking for years.

I want us to get a good deal with the EU on Brexit. IMO no deal will be disastrous. A deal that ensures that we can still trade and make money.

I don't want us more aligned/in bed with the United States, especially under the current nut-case. May's silence about him and his actions is shameful.

I don't want Primary Schools to have to open, fully staffed, an hour earlier on a budget of 7p per pupil, but I do want free, communal lunches for these children protected and expanded. It's a fantastic policy because hungry children are a nightmare for teachers and they cause themselves and others to not achieve...

I want the education of our people to be free and well funded from cradle to grave. Maybe, just maybe by educating our people better, we could fill skill gaps and wouldn't need quite so much immigration.

I don't want Grammar schools inserted into areas so that the rest of the un-selected get a 2nd rate education. If we educate our people well, they will repay it in spades. i.e. it will make us money.

I think making Private Schools pay VAT is a great idea. Charity? My arse. Oh, and it will make us money.

BTW I can already hear the "I want, I want, I want..." replies but you know what, that's what voting in a General Election is about. No?

Oh and because Theresa May is a spineless **** and Jeremy Corbyn has gone up hugely in my estimation, and I'm gald that the Labour party are finally presenting an actual alternative. That alone is great for our country.

This is a huge election and it will set out our future post-Brexit, so IMO we need to reverse the decline in our services and infrastructure before we become a low-tax, low-wage shadow of the nation that we are, or rather we should be.

It's been emotional but invigorating, so I'll finish with a bit of Fela Kuti, just for Chippy (I'm sorry mate, I know you mean well...), Worsley (I'm really not sure that you do...) et al...

Nice post, I'm fully behind Corbyn myself now, did the vote for policies and I was split between Labour and UKIP pretty much. I'd hazard a guess a few people will be like that too. I'm Centrist I believe, shame no one represents us.

He only knows/spouts what the papers tell him. Bangs on about terrorist apologists but hasn't got the first clue about the finer points of current and historical Middle Eastern foreign policy or the part his beloved Tory party has played in it all.

It's the wider fallout that totally ruins the land. Cumbria is still feeling the effects of Chernobyl. I know Chernobyl were conducting an experiment and I know very little of nuclear security but I'm more of a "remove the worry" kinda guy when it comes to things of such seriousness. I don't mind the hit, money isn't the be all when other options are feasible.

No that's just you. Quote your post from last week - days after Manchester children had been blown up you pretty much said I can see why they do it.

Too right, letting Libyans out the country to oust Qaddafi is one for starters.

It's tw@s like that that do my head in. Corbyn's not ashamed of meeting with groups like HAMAS and the IRA. If it weren't for people like him, there'd be even more bloodshed. Yet, the person who breaks bread with a perceived enemy, in order to bring peace to the people, becomes a 'sympathiser' because the one who scorns is actually far away from the bloodshed!

It's not usually their son, brother, father, mother or daughter that die for the conflict! Why on EARTH would you want more of the same if you were affected??

If it's so safe why aren't we putting them in city centres? If they go, they go, whether it's on St Kilda, The Wirral or The Old Kent Fucking Road!

FWIW and being serious, I too would like us to be able to harness nuclear power better because, if it is safe then it's practically limitless. I've always thought that a smaller reactor/generator placed locally would be safer and more efficient than having huge plants... But can't say I'm that well read on the state of the art so would be all ears. That's hugely preferable to going after dirty, finite shale gas IMO.

Remember you on a thread years ago talking about nuclear fission and how it's by product is h20? was interesting not sure it's related to what you are on about like but good times on bluemoon that.
