You need to actually watch games. He constantly dives in, and makes horrendous mistakes. That doesn't mean we don't rate him, we just don't believe he's immune from criticism. He's got a lot to learn to be an elite CB.
I don't know why I'm surprised to see it on here, but you'd think City fans of all people wouldn't be so easily swayed by idiotic commentating.
Today he's been fucked over by Cahill playing France in behind twice, Dier going completely AWOL in midfield and not tracking runners, and Jones not actually doing anything at all.
thats strange a lot of people say the exact opposite and that he backs off.
Just leave him alone, he's spent the last year defending every mistake Stones has made. He has got a irrational love for him. He has potential but right now he is miles away from our standard.

Doesn't matter what people say does it? The errors are there, he makes mistake after mistake. He's way off being a top class CB.

well yea it does, you saying the complete opposite to what a load of other people are saying. he now jumps into tackles, but also backs off to much???. i dont think he made any mistakes tonight, he went down to try and block a shot in the box, maybe a few seconds early but its hardly a mistake. he showed last season especially in the second half of the season he has the potential. I'm sick of this constant cticism of him and sterling, even if they play well. he didn't even play bad tonight
Funnily enough I doubt you actually watched the game yourself if you've decided the first reaction is to criticise Stones.
Watched the game and saw Stones dive in for the first goal, dive in for the Mbappe chance and get run ragged. He's got a lot to learn. He isn't immune from criticism.
And it's the first 90 mins he's played in months after his injury and it just so happens to be against France with some of the best attacking talent in Europe with Dier and Ox offering no protection with Cahill giving the ball away every chance he got. You'd think fans of the club he plays for would cut him some slack but not on bluemoon. Once the experts on here have made their minds up that's it, they are the worst player ever to play the game and City need to spend £500 million replacing them.
All the ones defending him would probably be the first to jump on Otamendi for a similar performance...Funny old place is our Bluemoon

what the city fans defending a city player ? who didnt play that bad in a friendly. if otamendi gave a performance like that in a friendly game i dont think anyone would even be commenting on it.
He cost us a goal(getting sold the dummy and going to ground) and almost cost us a second but Mbappe hit the bar...I'm sorry but those two incidents on their own equal a poor performance.
Ohh they absolutely would
So you saw Cahill play France in behind Stones, Dier not track Sidibe and Jones stand still on the edge of the 6 yard box and decided to blame the only defender that made an attempt to stop the goal?
Like I said, you didn't watch it.
Like I said, I saw Stones dive in for the first goal. He was poor, no reason to get upset and act a child.
cost us a goal ? the french players were lining up to score, there was 4 of them in the penalty box with a free shot on target. no they would not, people on here just dont like stones its the same with sterling. it will also be the same with walker. big money and english = constant criticism. he hasn't played a full 90 minutes for months now. when he was playing every week he was getting better.
it was friendly game...... whats important is when he plays competitive football for us, not games like this
