It's Quiet - a new dawn

Lighting the fire...

Hearing that we are indeed balls deep for Mbappe. World record (obviously) bid is 'imminent' and his party are fully aware how serious we are..

Adding to that, the info was followed by more than a suggestion that there is indeed truth in the Sanchez/Aguero rumours, the same ones I personally rubbished this morning in the Sanchez thread (due to having absolutely no knowledge on it at all until the message we just got)

Fuck.

Lol

If you seriously think aguero would be part of any deal you're on cloud cuckoo land..

Now if the info is coming from Arsenal, which is the only plausible explanation, then this is just a puffing out of the chest to convince the 'old faithful' that we succumb to no man..

Trust me, city will never entertain such a deal and neither would aguero...

But you know what kind of makes sense in a weird way?

Kelechi.

Has Arsene player written all over him.

Kelechi plus cash for Sanchez. Now that I could see.

Possibly but I know we're insisting on a buy back clause, which I don't think they would entertain.... again though, I heard this was Everton back in April, I think once the lukaku situation has been sorted he'll be off there

Why would we want to sell Kelechi to Arsenal? He can only hurt us by doing well there, whereas if he goes to West Ham, Leicester etc. then his success is great for us and we'll have a buyback.

I think that Leicester is the best option for Kelechi, they play 4-4-2, and his speed and his willingness to run in behind could help them, he'll get games and develop in a good mid table side. Everton could also be a good fit, but they're about to sign Sandro so I doubt Kelechi will want to play second fiddle to another striker.

Spot on. We should not make the mistake of selling to our direct competitors. Leicester or Everton will do.

You are quite right, I dont have a history at all with this kind of stuff.
Again I'll emphasise that I took the piss out of an idea of a swap deal yesterday morning, and the only reason I posted it was because I am fully aware of the standing of the person who told me
I am skeptical about it too, but I was told discussions have 100% taken place, concrete fact. Whether it is City bluffing arsenal I have no clue
The Mbappe comment was the main one, and I havent gone into nearly enough detail about just how much City have 'woo'd' his party and more importantly family

With regards to my source, you expect me to out his name? Course I wont and fine if you dont believe it thats 100% your right and I might do the same in your shoes
But I'll tell you this, I stand in block 110, row J if you fancy a look down
I am at more city community & hospitality events than most on here with respect, and partake in various city schemes and fundraisers for all causes
The source is a close friend who does that x10, and invests heavily in them to boot.

I don't post s**t clogging up this board with unbelievable fake news and gossip, nor would I want to for a laugh.
Appreciate the info, with regards to Mbappe, what you say about the wooing is similar to what Tolmie had been saying, his posts last week suggested it was off, and we had turned attentions to centre back do you reckon it's still going on or could your info be pre last weekend ?

It's a case of how bad do we want Alexis. If they asked for Kelechi I'm pretty sure we'd do that deal.

I agree. I really rate Kelechi and believe that he has been harshly treated over the past 2 years but the truth of it is, Sanchez is a player we really want and kelechi is a player we see as expendable.

Kelechi is a player people on here 'think' we see as expendable.

If we are insisting on a buyout clause or no sale, then that is not true.

You think we'd miss out on Alexis by refusing a deal if Arsenal asked? I really, really don't.

Look, I love the kid and expect huge things from him, but he ain't gonna do it here in this system and if Arsene wants to save face, that's one way to do it.

it is always a guessing game on where info can come from (and also know first hand sources cannot be compromised) but without doubt people do get snippets of information. This a transfer discussion forum so they should not be discounted but discussed. I for one appreciate and evaluate any info provided and it helps pass the day.

I have no idea how City view Kelechi's future.

I know we will only get a few years out of Sanchez though. And it seems to me Arsenal are in a mess with contracts/signings.

'If' the stories are true & City will not sell Kelechi without a buyback clause, then that's that. It means they rate him that highly. As I do.

If the stories aren't true, then they would be willing to sell him to Arsenal.

I think a lot of City fans will be hoping for defensive reinforcements including a central defender.

We have 4 forwards plus Kelechi and yet we're hunting down Sanchez. In my opinion Sanchez offers marginal benefit as our forward line is already strong and yet we know that Kompany is not going to play 60 games this season and we seem to be ignoring that.

but how many times has it been mentioned marv that we want at least 3 full backs and a CB as well as sanchez?

I agree I want the defensive targets sorted first, so then I can enjoy the window, but I don't think you can claim our forward line is at all strong right now!

Its: Aguero, Jesus, Sterling and Sane.

That's not exactly stacked. I know Bernardo will probably end up filling in at RW too but Sanchez is as necessary as a CD in my opinion.

We currently have four attacking players now that Navas has gone and Nolito is likely to follow. I'd actually argue we need Sanchez and one more, though the other could be a Roberts. The defence will get sorted, but we should absolutely be looking at reinforcing the attack. Look at how exhausted Sane and Sterling were at the end of the season, they're kids.

We want to cover our own back in case hes valued at £60m in two years time, we don't want to end up like Chelsea or United having to pay silly money to get one of our players back to the club. This does not mean the club don't see him as expendable in the here and now. I expect we would sell him for less money to a club we don't consider a rival but I would be very surprised if we would potentially miss out on one of our main targets because the other club wanted Kelechi as part of the deal.
