I think the lack of conversion by Aguero and others is a different problem to solve. Obviously Sanchez will convert more than Sterling or Sané but that's nothing to do with Aguero/Jesus.

It'll be interesting to see where Sanchez would play and how Pep will get even more from Aguero.

He has quality as well. But I remember when he was at Udinese, and then barcelona. If you want one word t sum him up it's explosive. When that goes he has to reinvent his game.

How does that mean he's lost his pace? completed more take-ons than any of our players this season anyway. Besides he's never been rapid, he's quick but his style is more say a Tevez than it is of any winger that relies mostly on pace. His legs certainly have not gone, what's he played like 60 games this season? you'd be forgiven for thinking he might be a bit tired? People on here said we ran De Bruyne into the ground because he played 48 times.

I know he's quality. But his quality will dip. You don't have to convince me he's a good player. I am seeing City go into the new season without a central defender meanwhile we're bidding for a centre forward when we already have two world class players in that position. I just think we've got our priorities wrong.

I'm pretty sure the CB will be addressed, it is the 1st day of the window today. Up front, Kelechi will be gone, Bony will be gone, Nolito too, if we get injury to Jesus or Sergio, we are short up front too.

if the CB is addressed that is 90% of my concern. Sanchez = Aguero so £50m to stand still, and if its cover we want. Keep Kelechi.

Without a central defender? So we're not counting Vinny, Otamendi or Stones?

Otamendi was this type of signing a couple of years ago, he became available when we (thought we) didn't have a requirement for him, but he's actually gone on to be a fantastic signing. Without him, we would probably have spunked £50m on another young European centre back who might have turned out like Mangala & been on the rejected list by now.

I think the club/Pep probably sees this as an opportunity we shouldn't pass up. It's a relatively low risk move, because if it doesn't go well, we'll get rid of him, but if it does go well, then we've boosted our goalscoring abilities for the next 2/3 years minimum which will undoubtedly improve us.

There really aren't many negatives to this transfer. It won't affect us buying defenders.

I completely disagree with this.

We haven't even mustered a title challenge for the last 3 seasons and last season we struggled to score goals. Signing one of the top players in the PL who will pretty much guarantee 20+ goals and 10+ assists is a no brainer. There is also the winning mentality he will bring and experience that he can give to the likes of Sterling and Sane.

The only question any City fan should ask is whether signing Sanchez gives us a better chance of winning Trophies. I think it's blatantly obvious that he does and therefore anything else is irrelevant.

Almost double what Alexis is on.

That's the brief.

It ain't about the money.

City would have already walked away if Sanchez was staying.

You get the players in who you prioritise. We haven't prioritised a central defender. It doesn't look that way anyway. Whether Alexis marginally improves City I do not care for. It is arguable as to whether he would add to City because you can only play 11. But I am nowhere near as confident as you in Stones and Otamendi. 12 months ago, many fans thought Kompany was finished. Thankfully they were wrong. But I really doubt he will play more than 30 plus games and we really need to strengthen that position.

Think yesterday's press conference for Chile has all but confirmed it, that was an opportunity to nail his colours to the gooners mast but he didn't. House hunting in New Moston or Beswick for our Alexis the possibilities are endless.

This is my thoughts on fullbacks too. The lack of links to other options in any of the positions we want gives me confidence things are running smoothly.

It's so painfully obvious that we need another serious goalscorer I can't believe anyone actually can't see why it's a priority.

By the way, your "he can't beat his man" anymore thing is complete bullshit - he beat 109 players in the premier league last season.

Sané beat 54, Sterling 83.

So no, an inability to beat players is certainly not the reason he was made to play up front.

Stop Wumming.
