Alexis Sanchez

So if arsenal do string this out, as some are implying... and they do sign Lacazette and say Mayhrez and Lemar, all on the sizeable deals they'd need to table to hook them, are they fucked and fall foul of FFP if they have to keep Sanchez?

Say they get everybody in, while holding on to Sanchez, in the financial position they are in, have they not fucked their bargaining position? If we backed out last minute (I know we wouldn't leave Sanchez in the lurch like that), but what FFP ramifications would they face?
None I would imagine.
Arsenal make buckets of money and FFPis pretty much redundant with the new tv deal kicking in this year

Maybe it's time to make a bid for lacazette drive up the price for arsenal even just declare an interest and any other target they have until they play ball.

Arsenal will milk this for all its worth money wise before any deal, Sanchez will have to submit a written transfer request, no loyalty bonus and they will drag it out as close to the end of the window as possible to get the maximum price out of us.(Appreciate that could backfire on them)

Don't get this though, they are paying his wages each week.

First of all sleeping bag has to appraise Sanchez to match our offer and that will fuck up their wage structure.
Imagine their dressing room.

Straw clutching at it's finest, if Sanchez gets paid more than everyone else it's for the simple fact he is their best player.

Sorry, my bad. Meant wage wise, not buying wise...

Is their breaking of the rules not to do with the allowed wage increases, rather than net spends? That's the problem they seem to have that Sam at Goal and some of the other (far more intelligent and clued up) posters on here have mentioned... how can they sign all these players and stretch themselves wage wise, and leave things till the last minute?

As an Arsenal fan Im just happy we are signing his replacements now rather than lose him on the last day of the window with no time to bring anyone in.
My personal opinion is that Wenger would sell but the board are blocking the move, they have been paranoid ever since Usmanov said Arsenals best players would have stayed had he been in charge, they even rejected a 1.5bn offer for their shares which would have given them a 700m profit on their investment, I think they feel they are fighting for their futures as owners of this cash cow and losing 50m is not an issue. They've never worried about the team before, its got nothing to do with Sanchez or Man city but any market research will tell them this sale will alienate the customers in a way that cant be repaired, and a business is nothing without customers.
There is a good chance he will stay and go on a free in the summer, but every new signing helps, had we got Mbappe, Sanchez would have been sold by now.

Had we got Mbappe you could keep Sanchez ;-)

Maybe !

I will be really disappointed if we end up signing someone in Nolito's level after all the Alexis and Mbappe talk.

I don't see that. We have the potentially impending registration ban, so we Pep will want to bring in someone who can fill the scoring need.

Problem is unless it's Aubameyang, I don't see Monaco selling Mbappe, so tough to figure where we would look. Dybala then or perhaps Bale (if Mbappe goes to RM)?

Otherwise if it is someone at a level you are referring to we could try for Dembele, or more likely Coman. Maybe we then sign someone like Thiago and play Bernardo as our third wide attacker more frequently than we planned, or a cheeky bid for Dele Ali (crazy talk, I know).

The bookies now have it as a two horse race, with the odds yoyoing between us and the Arse. At the moment, we are slight odds on.
I know the odds only reflect the money being bet, but it tends to be people who 'know' a little something who will bet decent amounts that will change the market. It's my guess that Sanchez's agent is allowing both sides to be encouraged.

A very reasonable and balanced post, are you sure that

Hear Talksport are now saying we're offering him £350,000 per week. How the fuck would they know.
We haven't even got him yet, so how would anybody know what's in the contract he would sign.
