Gossip, being the operative word.

Monaco know we have been into Mbappe since last summer, so some people are gilding the lily on this one.

If such a meal took place, with two such prominent players, we have to ask ourselves this...

Why were there no pictures or video?

More importantly, we would not be still pursuing Sanchez if those two were seemingly in on arriving as a package.
 
pep did say he got 3 more targets with a youth feel to them and not just for the here and now but long term
 
tapping up is most stupid rule. klopp for ex. has any right on the world to sit with VVD and have a talk about, I don't know, fit Blackpool gils, if there are any. You can't ban any of them doing that because there are some more important laws than FIFA rules that give them the freedom to sit and talk. Unless you have undercover agent there to hear what they are talking about, you can do FA.

I don't think he means he took them both out to dinner at the same time. There's been separate stories of both meeting Pep although the Dembele one was debunked.

Sometimes there's a photo, like the Gundogan one last year, but I think it would be silly to assume these off the books meetings can't happen without being photographed, and then let slip by an agent.

Also I'd love it if we were keeping in touch with those 2 (Dembele especially) in case Sanchez doesn't work out so I want to believe.

The way social media is its bollocks to think a well known manager was having dinner with well known player and no pictures taken

Fans would be clamouring for selfies

The world doesn't run with rules of fairness in any work sector and football is included, if everyone do this and you brake the rules first you can say nothing In any case, I hope this question goes to our advantageand not against, Mendy isn't mentioned so maybe we are not involved

Not really, consider the Gundogan meeting that was photographed, just a sloppy mistake of meeting in the hotel lobby instead of in the room.

Then take it to Monaco, where there's not that many people to begin with, and the restaurants and hotels are very much used to discrete meetings and customers who don't want to be photographed.

Everyone is in everyone's life

Plus the media would have people on the books telling them about certain individuals meeting
 
Well, since they're considering reporting clubs to FIFA and the French Football League, we know that one of those clubs is PSG.
 
The tapping up rule became outdated from the day that agents entered the game. Agents know and advise their clients and actively seek out better deals than they currently have. Some agents even seem to think they themselves own their clients, Kia for one, and as they get a slice of any transfer fee then this is understandable behaviour. This doesn't make it right but when we were pursuing Lescott some years ago, Moyes called us "disgusting" as he wasn't contacted by Mark Hughes, in person. This doesn't happen anymore and everything about a player is known whether any club is interested or not. Without hard evidence to support officials of a club meeting a player with a view to a transfer and without the holding club's knowledge then it would be extremely difficult to have such a meeting as worthy of punishment.
