Samir Nasri

Unless he plays in a deeper role, it's difficult to see how he'll get any playing time considering the array of attacking options we have.

If, as suspected, we sign another attacker/forward, our main options in midfield and attack will be the following:

Gundogan
Fernandinho
Yaya
B Silva
D Silva
De Bruyne
Sane
Sterling
Sanchez/Mbappe/someone else
Jesus
Aguero

With this in mind, it's hard to see Nasri even making the bench on most occasions next season.

Assuming we also get Sanchez/Mbappe, keeping Nasri could let B. Silva play more out wide while keeping the midfield stocked with Nasri.

For all Ya Ya's faults he's never asked to leave. Unlike Nasri.

And for what its worth Ya Ya has imo been the most important player our club has had since the Sheikh rocked up. If not before too.

Dissing the club over his brothers death, cake gate, not shutting his agent spouting shit, half arsed attitude on the pitch are all minor infringements. Not aiming this directly at you, but some have very selective and short memories

Nasri never asked to leave, he asked to go on loan as he said he needed a change of scenery to sort his head out which looked very sorted over the last 2 weeks to me.

There were permanent offers on the table from 2 Turkish clubs, but he wasn't interested.

Both are quality players and were overweight and acting like nobs. One redeemed himself and the fans sweep his discrepancies under the carpet, the other.....
Yaya made a very public apology and slapped his agent and long term mentor down, pep wanted it and got it,he also got superfit and played out of his skin to get his place back, nasri came back fat and asked to leave,as i say completely different

I'm not disagreeing he has his faults. I don't think his fuckin idiotic agent does him any favours.

I just love Ya Ya. So maybe I'm biased.

Well Karen, I disagree, but if Pep can do the same with Samir, which atm he looks like he is, we are a better squad for it

That leaves 4 non home grown spots for defenders, Kompany, Otamendi, Mendy, Denilo, plus Stones and Walker an injury to Kompany or any of them for that matter, we are starting with Mendy injured, and we have just 5 defenders for 4 positions just so we can cover am mid with Nasri, So unless we can get a cheap homegrown cb/ lb it's not going to happen. Has little to do with ability it's how Pep wants to balance his squad.
Pep used Fernandinho as a right back when defending and a defensive midfielder when we were attacking. If we need to do this on occasion for a season until we can fully restock those areas next summer, then I'd be happy to roll with that if it meant we could retain Nasri.

If money was no object, we'd have got Bertrand, Van Dyke & Sanchez too. It's not a case of the money as we know full well, it's about FFP.

Move Bravo. Get a homegrown backup :) Always hated the backup foreign goalie idea.

This! I, like most blues, love Yaya. But, no one can't deny he was a prick for acting a nob. He's redeemed himself. Why can't we give Samir the same chance? As has already been stated; to get someone of his calibre will cost £50m + while we'll only get about 15m for Samir? I really don't get the dislike for him. He might be a clown off pitch but he's truly capable of being a king on it!

Probably like a few, can't make my mind up on this one. He's a class player and would be an asset to literally any side in the world, if you could rely on him being 'on it'. He also has a track record of not always being 'on it'

As long as he doesn't block foden/Diaz, which he wouldn't for the forthcoming season, then I'd love him to stay. He contributed as much as anyone to the 13/14 title, far and away our best player until that Newcastle player nobbled him

We don't need to that's the point, we only need to make do to find room for Nasri, Why make do with Fernandinho as a fullback for Nasri when chances are unless Bernardo, Silva or KDB get injured he'd hardly be used. List 17 non homegrown and let's see who misses out to get Nasri in, that's Peps job and just guessing but I'm predicting he won't find a spot for Nasri. We'll have to see.

If pep doesnt give him a second chance there could be more to it.

Simple except in his position we have 3 or 4 players to rotate so the two Silvas, KDB and maybe Gundogan, whichever had missed out on c/l games would still most likely play league games before Nasri would.
It wasn't Yayas choice he wasn't being picked for any game until he apologised, then he was put into c/l squad in January.
Yaya was told to apologise, sort out his stinking attitude and shift half his body weight in blubber which for me is no different to Nasri. I've read someone mention that at least Yaya never wanted to leave the club. PARDON? He's held the club to ransom every fuckin summer since he's been here which culminated in 'Cakegate'!

There is space for Nasri if we want it, but as several people have said, the max we'd get for selling Nasri would be £10m-£15m and if we wanted to replace him, we'd be looking at £50m-£70m. If City can sort out Yaya, we can sort out Nasri....

The question isn't if he's an exceptional footballer, it's if we want him. If Nasri's attitude had never been a problem, trust me this wouldn't even be a talking point. All you have to do is to see how Pep eulogised over him last night. The only players I've heard him talk about like that were Kroos & Bonucci. High praise indeed...
