Veganism

Complete nonsense.

Whatever we find in meat was created by what the animal ate ie grass, seeds etc so just cut out the middle man.
Somehow, I doubt many people will swap bacon sarnies and T Bones for a day on their hands and knees munching
grass in field.

I strongly suspect he missed brain evolution by some margin.

When you have strong beliefs about something it can cause cognitive dissonance. This basically means that all the evidence or information that contradicts that belief is ignored.

This is particularly strong in

Conspiracy Theorists.

The Religious.

Football supporters.:)

Basically, you're strong beliefs don't like a challenge and your brain simply rejects it.

Flat earthers seeing a photo of the earth will say it's fake.

Religious people will defend a talking snake and raising the dead. Rising from the dead etc

We can all be affected by it. In the most extreme cases it can lead to half a country believing the earth is 6,000 years old and Satan is trying to get you. Oh and dinosaurs lived with us.

That's how powerful it can be.

Rangers fans thinking We Are The People is probably the best example I can give though.:)

why is this thread still running? life is too short to worry about sh*t - eat meat and be happy - or be a worry wort your whole life and be a sad vegan/vegetarian?

Are you saying that the matter animals are made from, come from what they eat? 'kin hell...

Probably because it disturbs us, deep down, what we are caught up in, and what we do to our cousins. We're supposed to be 'civilized' now. But be it moral apathy, status quo bias, speciesism or whatever, plenty of people can't get their head around the fact that the issue of harming and killing sentient creatures simply for their taste, isn't justifiable. Roll on in vitro meat.

CCTV is to made mandatory in UK slaughterhouses. Rather than videoing the practices, they should be outlawed.

I haven't seen my cousins for years. What have you done to yours?

doubt it somewhat - all those "sentient creatures" are bred to taste good - they'd probably be all extinct if they didn't - so its a win win situation - each species survives because the species that would drive it out of existance likes to eat it, a great survival tactic on their behalf!

''bred to taste good''? eh? But, yes, if we stopped breeding them, we might allow some species to go extinct. There is nothing wrong with that, and it is a much better scenario than continuing to create them, harm them, and slaughter them.

'We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form.'

''So its a win win situation'' Actually, it is a teeny-tiny win (their taste) huge loss (their suffering) situation.

*sigh*
