Veganism

Not sure I ever suggested humans eat grass.

What's this then?

Animals are a product of what they eat as are we not sure what you're struggling with on that one.

Because it's bollocks.

You eat a steak and it's full of protein made by the animal. You eat the cow's grass and you don't get that protein.

Then you came back with:

"All protein is plant based. Think about that."

I don't suffer idiots gladly no.

As stated, try and eat grass and see if the human body has the capability to turn those amino acids into protein.
It's nothing to do with an inability to turn the amino acids in grass into proteins that's the problem it's the inability to digest the rather complex carbohydrates in the grass.

Eating cheap processed, nitrate saturated, steroid infused, cuts of meat is very differnet to eating natural,clean/lean varieties.

Yes,you're inviting health problems, probably before the age of 40,if your lifestyle and diet heavilly includes the former.Eat the latter, alongside fibrous veg and healthy fats, and you wont go wrong. You'll in all probability look much better for it too.

Each to their own I say but the thought of eating plants, grasses and seeds then trying to wipe my arse only using 5 sheets of bog roll, does not sit well with me at all....! People should do what they feel is right for them and leave the rest of us the fuck alone...!

om·ni·vore
/ˈämnəˌvôr/

noun

  • 1.an animal or person that eats food of both plant and animal origin.
Humans have no ability to hunt animals we have to make tools to do so. We have fingers for picking berries and foraging not claws. We see in colour to assist with foraging and to help identify safe plants to eat. Most meat eating predators do not see in colour they do not require it. The fact we are intelligent and learnt skills to enable us to eat meet does not make us bleeding omnivores.

The fact we are intelligent
You're disproving that very well.

We are omnivores.

Humans are definitely omnivores.

The best evidence is our teeth: we have biting/tearing/ripping incisors and canines (like carnivores) and chewing molars (like herbivores). Animals with such diverse teeth tend to be omnivores.

Chemically, we lack cellulases or cellulosic symbionts that many herbivores have, and have lots of proteases that carnivores do. But we do have sucrases that let us digest fruits. Humans require vitamin B12 to thrive, which can only come from animal sources or certain bacteria (vegans must supplement their diet). We also require vitamin C, which is present in citrus fruits and organ meat, the latter probably being our evolutionary ancestor's main source.

Interestingly, we have very powerful livers (the detoxification organ) and a very strong ability to smell rot/decay/decomposition relative to other animals. This suggests we may have evolved as scavengers, eating dead (but not too decayed) carcasses killed by other animals.

Lastly, our closest evolutionary relatives, the chimpanzees, are omnivores. The leading theory as to how humans evolved is that we became long-distance runners and hunted food by running it down until it tired, and that our access to meat and protein enabled our brains to evolve further than otherwise. So meat-eating is in our history as well as our DNA and physiology.

We don't need claws, we ran things down.

Who cares if we're omnivores, herbivores, obligate carnivores.. what sort of argument is that? Is that for God's benefit or something? Because nature endowed us with fists, then it must be ok to throw them? It is to miss the point completely. Plenty of vegan recipe books out there, and it is merely a small inconvenience to go vegan, it is not some kind of huge sacrifice. There are hundreds maybe thousands of vegetables, and only a few different types of meat. If you have to scrape the barrel with the 'Nature made us that way' argument it makes you look like a fool.
