It matters not a jot if arsenal got a decent bid from a foreign team if Sanchez refuses to sign for them

Yes, when Wenger picked up the paintbrush and started heading for the corner he probably thought that if he, and the Arsenal board, held the line that Sanchez could only go abroad then Sanchez would eventually decide that going abroad would be better than staying.

"only the strongest survive" - within the squad, you mean??

Not at all!
It's the opposite: we need them all to be competitive on the highest level in 4 competitions over a very long and tough season.

Having a squad of 21 very good players who don't want to be left out is not easy, right.
But rotation is key. That means we want to optimize players' resources through rotation. This will give City a competitive advantage.
The other one is the bench which has been recognized in the matchday thread.
Rotation isn't much fun for Pep if you have Nolito, Navas, Nacho, Clichy, Bony or Delph on the bench. That would neither be rotation nor a frightening bench.

And don't forget the different quality and setup of opponents. Everyone will have enough games.

I meant more towards the end of the season. The trouble with competition is that you have to have some losers. If Sane doesn't play in all the most important games for example, might he want to move on? And wouldn't he be justified? That's what I mean. I'm not making a negative judgement, I'm perfectly happy to see City have overwhelming strength all over the pitch.

There seems to be one crowd on BM of the opinion that "that's enough cake" and one crowd of "another slice please". Or in their own words "miserable bastards" vs "greedy bastards". I'm probably more of a greedy bastard but I definitely see where the miserable bastards are coming from.

I'm in the camp that thinks, I'm not the one eating the cake. I don't care if Pep/City (our arbitrary cake eater) has two more slices or says no thanks I'm full and can't even have one more wafer thin mint.
As long as he maintains his optimum playing weight and performs to the highest standards, I won't question how he does it.

Think this season if Sane or Jesus was on the bench for a final, especially a c/l they would be ok at 21, Then in future seasons with Aguero possibly moving on when his contract finishes and if we get him Sanchez will be 30, that's when those players would be expecting to get ahead in the selections.

Another day gone and no nearer it seems,i keep expecting to hear he has put in a transfer request
I don't think he's that kind of person, think he'd rather ride it out than do something similar as Ousmane Dembele is doing to Dortmund.

Still not confident we need him, if we play with 3 forwards we can use Sane, Sterling, Jesus, Aguero, B Silva and Kevin with B Silva and Kevin as playmakers, I can easily see this 6 rotated in a 3-4-3, and the combination of 2 goalscorers and a playmaker is not foreign:

Real Madrid: Isco playmaker with Ronaldo and Benzema as goalscorers

Tottenham: Eriksen playmaker with Alli and Kane as goalscorers

Barcelona: Messi playmaker with Neymar (gone) and Suarez as goalscorers
**Messi is also a goalscorer because he is GOAT, but he created so much for Barcelona that it is criminal he only had like 10 assists last season, Neymar and co missed so many chances he made for them.

People underestimate how good a signing B Silva is, he can be a game changer, and if he develops his finishing (which is actually decent tbf) can become 90% the player that Messi is, which is massive.

I highly doubt, we would put in an opening bid of 60m. I would guess it be around 40m and it probably hasn't happened yet.

This transfer is happening for me, still two weeks left in the window.

-City have not denied the Sanchez pursuit despite being linked every week.
-Wenger has already changed his stance in anticipation of the move, he says they have to balance sporting and financial aspects and he prefers the sporting side which means letting him go for free next summer. I'm sure we all know which side Kroenke and the board prefer.
-He previously believed Sanchez could sign a new contract, and now is changing his stance again saying that is unlikely.
-Sanchez comes back with the flu and now gets a mysterious abdominal strain, this is Sanchez pushing for the move behind the scenes.
-Sanchez already embarrassed Wenger a few weeks ago, when Wenger confirmed he spoke to Sanchez through text and that the situation is positive, Sanchez then states that he wants to play in and win the Champions League, clearly proving that what his manager said was a lie.
-PSG and Bayern were out of the equation weeks ago when Sanchez demanded insane wages from them (raising his demands because he doesn't want to go there).
-City really want Sanchez and he really wants City.
-Arsenal either cash in and replace him now or let him leave for free and still have to replace him next summer.
-Next summer prices will continue to go up. Lemar is priced at 60m right now, could easily be 80m next window.

Albert Einstein: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results
-Henry-->Wenger says will stay--->ends up leaving
-Adebayor-->Wenger says will stay--->ends up leaving
-Nasri-->Wenger says will stay--->ends up leaving
-Fabregas-->Wenger says will stay--->ends up leaving
-Van Persie-->Wenger says will stay--->ends up leaving
-Sanchez-->Wenger says will stay--->????????????

Nasri was sold on August 24, so theres nothing to panic about, it will happen.

I hope we start pushing for the deal to be done , I think they will sell for the right price
may be around 70M ???
