Exactly, whisky nose loved him, and was reportedly really pissed off when Van Gaal sold him, Wenger was considering a £35 million bid for him not so long ago & now obviously Pep rates him. I personally don't give a fuck if he played for the scum. He fits the bill perfectly, is apparently an absolute top professional, a diamond to work with and if three of the most successful managers of recent times rate him then who am I to argue? Get the lad signed. If you're delighted that WBA are playing hard ball and hoping we move on, can you suggest an alternative centre back who is:
Experienced
Home grown
left footed
That is the criteria that saw us bidding for Evans so please suggest a viable alternative.
Why are you naming Ramos and Varane? Their back ups are Vallejo, a 20 year old who has never played a game for them, and Nacho, a 27 year old with 81 league appearances for them in 8 years.
Evans is at least as good as Nacho if not better.
There comes a time when we have to walk away if WBA keep rejecting our offers. I actually don't mind the idea of Evans coming in. Ex-rag or not he would be a sensible option to cover Kompany if he gets injured, but only at the right price. However the only other option that fits with homegrown and experienced tags is Ryan Shawcross. And that's a no from me.
Azpilicueta isn't a CB either but it didn't harm Chelsea last season with him on the left of a back three.More expensive and isn't a centre back.
I answered your question as did the next poster.
You answer mine.

Are we in the land of make belief there was a story of Wenger bidding £20M for him, where did £35M come from or have I been Clarkied?Exactly, whisky nose loved him, and was reportedly really pissed off when Van Gaal sold him, Wenger was considering a £35 million bid for him not so long ago.
If we are spending stupid money on this guy why didn't we just keep Kolorov? I don't think he did a bad job in that position

Pulis: "We don't want to sell Jonny and we don't need to sell him. It would have to be a very, very good offer"
We wanted to, he didn't.If we are spending stupid money on this guy why didn't we just keep Kolorov? I don't think he did a bad job in that position
That bent twat will no doubt want his cut.Listening to Pulis just now, I'd say its on the cards but at a ridiculous cost.
I do not have ideological problems with signing Evans, but surely the price we would be willing to pay can't go very much higher. He is an all right player, but 25 million or more is squeezing it a bitListening to Pulis just now, I'd say its on the cards but at a ridiculous cost. Don't we have any other options?!
You didn't answer it, I asked you for the excellent back ups at Real, Barca, PSG and Juve and so far you haven't named a single one.
