Alexis Sanchez

There is huge risk in waiting til next season. Arsenal could persuade him to sign an extension so there's no guarantee of getting him for free anyway. Plus, say, god forbid, we don't win a single trophy this season, maybe Pep goes at the end of the year, then what, Sanchez won't come.

If it's possible to get it done in the next 10 days, I say do it.

please

Agree. Add the fact that european clubs can talk to him in January and we can't. It is one hell of a promise to ignore other suitors when they come calling with big bucks in January (PSG, Madrid/s, maybe even Barca) to say no I will join City without even knowing the details of what we can offer him or our situation with managers, players etc like you say.

Alves has taught us that promises mean nothing and things can change so surely we can't rely on Alexis' word. It is now or never. As much as I hope it will happen, can't see them budging myself.

I can only assume that Arsenal are trying to get rid of their fringe players before allowing anymore incomings, which is probably having a knock on effect on Sanchez to us???

He's going away on the 28th with the national squad isn't he ? Arsenal play on the 27th so we have from now until Friday or it's impossible no ?

Neither Pep nor City can/will wait until next year for Sanchez.

Still very confident at this stage.
Cheers tolmie, good to hear on a Monday morning. Not just that we want him and progress looks good, but also the cold hard fact that we want to win things this year Though, does Sanchez want to move now or wait? He's the deciding factor here, which is how it should be I suppose.

One question if you can indulge, Pep's comments recently seem very much to allude to us wanting a player or two but not needing them, but if as you say we won't wait for Sanchez then are we seeking attacking reinforcements this window regardless of Sanchez's stance?

Chile play on the 31st august and the 5th Sep.

We've seen it before players signing whilst on international duty. We can easily fly people out to do medical and interviews it wouldn't be a problem.

Yes Chile play on the 31st of August (Thursday) but players must report to training on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Arsenal play Liverpool on Sunday and travel there on Saturday I believe. No way Sanchez flies to Chile which is a long trip after Sunday and then goes back to England and again to Chile, it's not going to happen. He will sort his future out before leaving for Chile.

I imagine we will know by Friday or Saturday morning at the latest if he will join or not:
