Glass Tunnel now taking shape

That's outrageous. A total lack of respect.

Have the plaques been moved to near the bridge to the Academy or are they just the same City circles as before mate?

You need to read some of the earlier posts in the thread Tim. They were only sold with a 10 year life span in 2004. People who bought them knew that

Thanks Wes. I had seen the earlier posts but I thought the Club would have tried to move these plaques. I guess they might have bit it wasn't practicable as part of the reconstruction.

I've toned down my comment given people who paid for the plaques understood their temporary nature. Thanks again

I don't know who is responsible in the organisation, whether it's cityzens or supporter services or whatever. But they need to be more involved with the changes that are happening around the club.

So with things like the tunnel club you have a voice or conscience of our supporters able to tell the decision makers how the change will affect supporters, what alternatives are available, how the changes should be communicated etc.

I reckon it's a pretty basic thing, and should happen with every big change on things like stadium, ticketing, membership etc.

There are no "plaques" by the way... it's a 6ft tall piece of glass (see here ).. with fake plaques etched into them. It's not like they could have been removed for people to pick them up. As City explicitly said it was guaranteed for 10 years only and then to be replaced by something else. As someone else said they got 14 years out of it.

Yeah I think the walls of the tunnels became like interactive advertising boards a few seasons back. That being said it would of been little worry to have moved those plaques to another part of the ground. Maybe not the memorial area but city square or the family stand concourse.

That's fair enough mate but were people eg given the chance to buy their part of the plaque.maybe this wasn't possible.

I know the Club honoured their part of the deal but sometimes it's good to exceed the expectations of fans. For example, the motto of the people running the London Olympics was "Under promise, over deliver"

As pointed out, the 'plaques' were merely prints onto massive plexiglass sheets, and one side of the tunnel had them removed a season or so ago when it became a massive Nissan advert.

Did letting Kolarov go cost the tunnel club the video screen?

i dont think many city fans actually like the tunnel club or the idea of it. its so far removed from most of our fan base. i think its part of - everything wrong with football at the minute. i dont think the club realise what fans actually think.

In simple terms it wouldn't be for me however I don't see a problem providing it for those who do want this. On a similar vain I would support the introduction of safe standing, it's nor for me but I would be happy for it to be provided for those who want to stand. Can't see why people are getting bent out of shape, I like the idea that you can choose what fits for you.

There was a bit of chat around me on Monday about it, nobody was expecting to use it, but nobody was bothered by it either. I would like to,see the North stand announced soon as the next project with more cheap season tickets and some provision for safe standing should it ever be given the go ahead. As you say I probably wouldnt use that either I like a bit more comfort these days.
