First and foremost the club itself is a myth in terms of it claims of organic growth and self sufficiency, who are they trying to kid. Correct me if I am wrong, but the Busby family owned / creamed off the profits from the souvenir shop until Martin Edwards sussed out how much it potentially was worth and then paid the family off on a one off basis and took ownership. Late 80's I'd say but could have been a little earlier.
 
What isn't so well known (because Kim Jong-Un and the rest of the rags' PR machine have suppressed it fairly successfully over the years) is that the club pestered the families of the Munich victims to donate medals, shirts and any other memorabilia to the club museum. Several of them did but were shocked when they were told that if they ever wanted to see them again they'd have to pay the entry fee to the museum. Jackie Blanchflower's family were particcularly disgusted by this especially as he was one one of the badly injured survivors who, along with his family, was evicted from his club house.

If I were one of those that had donated, I would have demanded they be returned.

Many clubs treated ex players shamefully especially those who fell on hard times. And not just players - Shankly was made very unwelcome after he left.

But united seem to have been in a class of their own.
 
They look much better than last season. But the season starts for them, us and our other rivals after this international break. Once the CL kicks off as well as the other cups.
We couldn't cope last season. Neither could they. We'll see how this season goes.
 
Can someone explain why their PL schedule is so easy compared to City's? The hardest run of consecutive fixtures they'll get is Liv (a), Hud (a), Tot (H), Che (a). But they have a week, or over a week between those matches. Then their schedule for the second half of the season is the easiest run fathomable where they never face top teams consecutively in the PL. Not to mention their easy ass CL group.

While City have a nightmare run in the final weeks of the season with Lei (h), Ars (a), Che (H), Stk (a), Bri (H), Eve (a), MUN (H), Tot (a). Plus, Napoli & a tough Cup draw vs West Brom thrown in between tough fixtures early on.

Crazy how conventient it's all set up for Man U this season. They also have Zlatan as a sub

The PL schedule shouldn't worry anyone, a good friend of mine, (a red Dipper) predicted the rags doing well in the
first 6 or so games, but then the same team will be facing similar placed sides with a much higher pedigree.
I believe, like him, they will fade after this, CL fixtures and other cup games take their toll, Mourinho sticks with his
winning 11 and it will cost him.
Just watch.
 
6 out of 6 top of the league and coasting with the best manager in the world

looked at the fixtures myself and thought just the same but the thing about it is how the fuck did they get such an easy draw for there first handfull of games and how the fuck did they get such an easy draw in the champions lge,and then another in the league cup and not to mention last seasons cup draws and so on, il leave it there for you to ponder on but most of us know the reason
