It's Quiet - a new dawn

Wenger just quoted: "talks don't depend on us"

Lends itself to what I have been told that Wenger thinks we are dragging our heels and not fully committed towards the player.

Let's hope he don't score a hat trick today.

It's a game of who will bluff first, if Arsenal want 70m and we offer only 50-55m will they really keep him? I can't imagine them keeping him and throwing all that money away. The rumors of offers for Sanchez will start in a month and by December he'll already have countless offers with amazing terms on his table. The only time keeping Sanchez makes sense is if he wins you the title which Arsenal have no chance of doing.

Looking at it from Sanchez point of view however is that if we don't offer the right money to arsenal it could seem to him that we aint fully committed to him...playing a dangerous game and our lack of commitment (how it might seem to the player) might change his mind about coming to us

The price was £50m at the start of summer.

Everyone seemingly states it is £70m now.

He's apparently been our number one target from day one of the transfer window. I've watched us being milked for extra cash for other players like Stones and Sterling and we didn't walk away. In my opinion, this is not the time to all of a sudden grow a backbone in transfer negotiations. If we were willing to pay £50m but they want £70m then bloody pay it for our number one transfer target.

I reckon City don't want to pay 60 or 70m 50 to 55m I reckon they willing to pay
Agree with this,Arsenal wanting more than is reasonable considering he only has a year left, would be around £50-55 mill, they probably want something silly like £70-80 mill and have probably told Sanchez we aren't as committed to doing a deal, well for anything over £55 mill I would be moving on ..

Too late to be dragging heels. He'll probably leave for Chile on Tuesday. This will either happen in the next 2 days or it won't happen at all.

Agreed. There is clearly a difference between the respective valuations, which the summer market won't have helped.

We're not great at this transfer bartering, so expect us to pony up on the day and let Arsenal claim the moral high ground.

Be interesting to hear from Sanchez if in front of cameras after the game.

I do think being the scenes, Arsenal have basically said he can leave if a club meets with their price.

Moving onto whom exaclty?

Just responding to the reports. That particular outlet is very poor this summer, on a par with Don Balon.

I don't rate Auba at all. Pace would be useless, we can see that already in first few games of the season, although decent with his head.

They were the first on the news regarding Silva and were the only ones up to date with Mendy all summer before everyone else, so that claim is false.

No one if it means being fucked over,we have got ourselves into a position where coming to the end of the window and we are desperate for another forward how did we let it go this far,pep and tixxi must have tunnel vision over Sanchez as we surely could have brought someone who fits the criteria in by now or similar..

We signed James Milner on international duty.

I'm sure the national boss would accommodate a medical in his camp, especially as personal terms are all agreed.

Arsenal signed Welbeck on England duty and we also signed Maicon when out of the country.

When the difference could be £20m, things can happen at a simple nod.

De Gea was waiting by a fax machine in Manchester, not Madrid, with no medical having taken place, prior to deadline hour.

I just think that at the end of day Arsenal will accept 55-60m even if it's less than valuation because something is better than nothing. Arsenal have everything to lose by keeping him and I just think they are playing a dangerous game and will eventually give in.

I thought Sanchez being in Chile would be an issue but it is t because he already said yes and now it's down to the clubs as all that's required from him is a medical which I think he can complete in Chile.

Wenger's comments make it sound like we're at some kind of financial Mexican (Chilean?) standoff as the window runs down. Hopefully we play this right.

Tolmie didn't sound especially confident though.

To not get him would be a waste..if it takes an extra 20 mill to get him then do it....just then don't buy Evans....and we save the extra money we have to spend to get Sanchez!
