Sadly, instead of talking about Mbappe this week, I can only see Evans getting added to the squad....bit of a drop from our original targets but holding out hope we some how get the Sanchez deal over the line...Other than Silva, we not known for our quick transfer dealings, so difficult to see Sanchez deal happening but might need another signing just to soften the blow of Evans joining!;)

The guy from work is a Bayern Fan but really knows his onions.. his lad is on a football scholarship in Georgia, USA and they are hoping for big things from him..

He knows the league well and as somebody else posted Gundogan was considered a bargain for us even with the risks over his initial injury...

I hope he fulfills his potential under Pep who does like to play people out of position...

He is superb at receiving the ball under pressure on the half turn, spinning away and releasing it with great accuracy. He also can move with the ball very effectively which adds another dimension to that role

Spot on. He can run a game from deep which De Bruyne doesnt do with the same quality. He belongs further forward. Alongside Fernandinho we might have enough energy in the centre to protect the defence. It isnt just energy either. With more intelligence and control in the middle we wouldnt be caught out. Generally we are still orchestrating our own issues defensively. Bournemouth scored (a few phases later) from ferny being caught out. He also got caught out from a bad pass by otamendi that led to king hitting the post. Eliminate those errors, which gundogan would, and we are more solid instantly.
 
If we get Sanchez and Evans this window then we're in better shape.

Not worth waiting for what could have been.

Next season will be next season and a totally different landscape.

We will not play with 2 holding midfielders under pep. Ever.

We have three outstanding no 10s in KDB, BSilva and DSilva. They can't all play in the same position.

Although City have some outstanding players, the balance isn't great in that we have 3 outstanding no 10s and no recognised seep midfielder unless you consider Gundogan for that role. Do we have the power for example to handle a Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea or Spurs? Barca never worried about matching up the strength of their opponents, they just played their own game.

Still lots more to come from City: Walker, Mendy, BSilva, Gundogan all barely played this season
