Ornstein isn't pushing the Sterling line. He said on 5Live tonight Arsenal won't accept without a player being involved, and City are 100% not interested in anyone leaving us in a Sanchez deal.

He's not peddling the sterling line but seems pretty convinced Sanchez isn't leaving.

I presume we'll go back with a significantly increased cash bid tonight. Hopefully enough to convince Arsenal to sell.

Not what he said, at all.

He is convinced they will not sell unless 'huge' money trades hands,
The money will be right for both clubs, and it will be done.

Chaos, couldn't move and any ride was between 45 minutes to an hour queue. Kids loved it though which is the main thing.
I took the kids last month. I'd never been. It looks like it's ready for closing at any moment. My kids loved it too. I just couldn't believe it was still running in that state

From what he said on the radio, we might be relying on them getting someone like Mahrez tomorrow.

He is a club mouthpiece though, someone on Arsenal's subreddit has just pointed out he reported on July 1st that Arsenal would spend over £150m this summer on players, and tonight he's said they have no money for big signings because Kolasinac and Lacazette cost too much. This seems very suspect as they've just freed up £180k/week wages they offered Oxlade-Chamberlain, and they're currently in a net profit for transfer fees.

I'm hoping he's just towing the party line and the 70m will get it done like you say, but he was pretty adamant it wouldn't.

you get the feeling this is only going to happen if we offer close to £70m. Is he worth that much? in today's market, yes he absolutely is. even if his contract is finishing, he is an excellent player and a player that makes the difference IMO, so it's a no brainer.

If , for example, they turn down £60M and we walk way, what happens ? They have a totally disengaged player who will be worth nothing next summer. Surely we won't need to go to £70m. (Not bothered if we do though!)

No that's not what he said.

He said "huge money and a replacement" traded hands. I've literally just listened back to it.

He's completely clear, he says Arsenal won't sell to us without getting a player in return and we won't entertain giving them a player.

You can choose not to believe him, but that's what he says.

If they don't sell him tomorrow we will get him at cut down price in Jan and they know it.
They are trying their hand but don't have much to play with.
60 may well do it
Just hope we don't get gazzumped by the likes of PSG at the 11th hour...

I interpreted it as if they have a replacement lined up, not necessarily from city.

Anyone else relatively calm about all of this? If we sign him, absolutely fantastic. If we don't, nobody else will do. Arsenal will be rotting until at least January.

Arsenal can't afford to let that happen. They'll sell him before the deadline,
