La Liga want Man City investigation

tbh, La Liga's whinging at the Neymar transfer was pretty pathetic, but given the financial doping of Real Madrid and Barca for many years this all seems a bit thin.

TBF, it's not the Primera per se that is asking for it but Tebas who is an unabashed RM supporter

Who was Soler referring to when he spoke about a club signing a keeper for 50 million?

Don't kid yourself mate, this has Barca's fingerprints all over it too.

Surely Messi to join City next summer....? They might be 100% sure that messi leaving next summer. Can't see any other apparent logic behind the complaint. Neymar already gone, Messi not signing contract extension and Ronaldo getting older. They are seriously worried about TRP and La Liga Brand value.

Spot on

Football works in cycles. Spain have had a fantastic cycle of European dominance at club level over the past 15 years. Now this cycle is coming to an end. Instead of it being somebody else's problem, they should have been first to flaunt themselves to achieve such levels of investment to retain their place at the top of the tree. Partly this has been achieved by shady transfer dealings by both Real and Barcelona, both have been sanctioned and had transfer bans levied against them.

Now the shoe is on the other foot and clubs in other countries are threatening to take over and become a force in European football, they can't handle it and their dirty transfer dealings won't work anymore as they do not have the levels of finance as other clubs now have.

Some day, this will all end for Manchester City too, and PSG. But the long standing fans won't piss and moan. It will hurt, but we have been in worse places.

Suck it up Barca. Your day in the sun is coming to an end, but it will return in the future.

How about the European Competition Commission investigates Barca and Real Madrid's cartel in La Liga, hugely anti-competitive

Surely the investigation should be equal for all clubs under the UEFA banner and shouldn't just relate to the last 12 months. Real Madrid and Barca's weighted TV deal and support from both the Spanish government in Real's case and from Catalunya in Barca's case should even things up. Whilst their at it UEFA should look at how money is distributed from TV deals in Italy and Germany too. After all if clubs are televised a disproportionate amount then they will earn money.

The barca chap who had a rant the other day let it slip badly, betrayed his real feelings and barely knew he did it :-)

"traditionally it is the big clubs that do these deals" to paraphrase the bugger, only just, that is close to verbatim.

I thought nah these clubs are not actually that childish but it seems at least Barca and Bayern are. Real the supposed uncouth brash club has never crossed us once, they never perpetuate the bi weekly Aguero to Madrid reports or any of that nonsense.

Fucking hypocrite. Where was he hiding when Barca and Madrid were spending freely?
Insecurity means now we can cherry pick on any of their stars.
Messi to city sounds more than a pipe dream.

Presumably they'll be investigating United too given their net spend was £10m more than ours this summer?

That's the thing. Even the BBC reporting it mentions we were the biggest spenders with 216 million spent but no mention of net spend as we recouped a lot and were not the largest net spenders in the PL.
As for sponsorship goes, personally I think we are hugely underpaid for shirt, stadium sponsorship these days compared to current market rates. Its the PL money that they should moan about, with relegated teams receiving around 100 million, but coming from Spain pot/kettle/black spring to mind when you think of how much the big 2 there kept of the TV money.
