Absolutely, and I expect the press to highlight to fuck the money we spent on defence. For Pep not to have fixed this potentially season ending issue is scandalous, which is why I think he is more prone to making sure we score first and 2nd and kill the game off before the defence get the pressure. So it is all on Aguerro/Sterling/Sane etc, they fail to score the easy goals though and we will lose.

One remedy I would like to see in these situations which I didnt last year was having a more solid defensively minded midfield, we got to stop the stupidly easy direct ball into our last third and them scoring.

Having said all that, it could easily change with 1 ref decision and we all know who that would go against
 
Marvellous. Think everyone knew this would happen at some point after not getting a CH

But for it to happen in the next game, which just so happens to be huge, is typical city at its finest
 
Like others already said. How this was not addressed in the transfer window is beyond me. You don't have to be a Genius to know that Kompany would sooner or later be out injured again.

Kompany knows he needs to manage his game time. Playing two games in 4 days was foolish and irresponsible.
 
Signing a top quality CB was always more important than adding to our stockpile of wingers and attacking midfielders.

Yet here we bloody are again. If anything we are actually weaker in central defence than last season.

Still confident we will win though.
 
He was out most of last season and we still had the 4th best defenaive record in the league conceding 39, the press bullshit about our terrible defence is just that.

More concerned about losing his presence as a leader on the pitch, bit if it's just a couple of games then I won't worry yet.


I would deffinately play Yaya with vinny out though.
 
Why is Kompany still playing international football with his injury record....he needs to think long and hard on what's important...it's obvious to all and sundrie that he can't cope with the games when they come thick and fast...throw in internationals and it's asking for trouble
 
Why is Vinny still playing for his country?
Selfish question, but given his injury history, he needs to retire from international duty and focus more on his career at City...
 
The only reason I suspect we didn't sign a CH was because we needed to shift Mangala or possibly Otomendi first. We expected to pay a large sum for Sanchez and didn't have time after that to change plans. As it happens for the game tomorrow Mangala could be a good choice alongside Stones given the counter attacking speed that Liverpool have.

Otamendi was La Liga best defender when City bought him.

Stones also was highly rated as England best CB.

I am not sure if they are not good enough, at least they are better than Liverpool CBs ( Lovren 20m & Matip on Free )
 
Any spare tickets for tomorrow as no doubt we are going to lose so some may not bother going now.

I still going but have a few mates who need tickets
