Whilst I was told this was precautionary, I think they believe he will end up being out for circa 4 weeks

It's a fairly reasonable fear though. After all it won't have been Mrs Miggs the tea lady who's made the call to pack him off to Spain, but City's own expensively assembled medical team. I imagine they won't have done so on a wing and prayer, but rather because they've seen something that's causing them proper concern. Either way, fingers crossed for good news.....

Ligament injuries are finicky and difficult to diagnose. They can be nothing, or you can tear a ligament and be able to walk around on your own power - only to get it diagnosed, need surgery, and be out for months. Hopefully this is just precautionary. If it's an ACL/PCL tear...we'll let's just cross that bridge when we get there.

doesnt make much sense this. walked off the pitch after the injury, sat behind pep for the rest of the game and tweeted it was just a knock. yet now he's done his ligaments and is out for the rest of the season?
Ligaments are a funny thing, it sometimes doesn't necessarily even hurt when you've done them, just an odd sensation and then as soon as you turn or shift your weight quickly it goes and you feel it. I wouldn't read anything into him walking around afterwards
