'Someone will kill a child': School run parking fears

I live next to a Primary school, when we first moved here almost £0 years ago there was very little difference in traffic at the start and end of school day now, it's chaos, people parking everywhere, bumps all the time.

For 30 mins around the end of day we can't get anywhere near our house to park.

Little fuckers should walk to/from School like I did.

Just got back off the school run and witnessed the usual chaos on the roads. Mostly stems from people getting as near to the building as possible in their cars, and all at the same time. Me and Grandson park 5 minutes away and have a leisurely stroll in.
Without consulting the residents the school is now 3 times the size it was (fucking academies) and must be a pain for those that live there.

Exactly this. I used to walk at least 5 miles every day to school usually with a bunch of mates. It's just plain lazyness by the parents

Schools round here shut the car park/playground gates at 3pm.

Personally I,d leave them open with stingers across the entrance.

He didn’t own shoes

Just cardboard boxes on his feet, his dripping butties in a dotted hanky and a jaunty aire as he hobbled along.

To play devils advocate plenty of parents drop their kids off on their way to work and unlike when I was a kid both parents have to work ( often there aren't two parents ) to keep family heads above water. However one reason they often cite as they do it is because of road safety - its not safe what with all that traffic around the school twice a day....... could be the answer is in their own hands and their kids feet.

I am with Hammer - seems a bit Harsh - guy was being a Jobsworth.
