Aguero injured after a car accident in the Netherlands

The club have said..

"He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash at Chelsea".

Reading between the lines that says to me that initially he's not too bad.

Are reports of broken ribs really just sore ribs? Could he just be a bit shaken up?

Fingers crossed.

Fractured my ribs twice and there's not a lot you can do but rest. First time, I started physical exercise too soon and they went again, very painful and restrictive.

Even if not broken it would be a few weeks, the international break has come at a good time.

I'm grateful we have some of the worlds best footballers playing for us, I dont see that as a curse one bit, quite the opposite.

That's the spirit,we are and always will be "ever the optimists", however it is a sombre mood this morning, and you trying to throw glitter around to make it out it is ok,well,it won't go down too well with a few, surely you realise this, and as for throwing Delph into the mix as a better defender, don't antagonise this situation anymore..........please

He would have arrived back in Manchester in the early hours of Friday morning when we have our biggest game of the season on Saturday teatime. I know he wasn't on the piss we or anything but it is odd. Even one broken Rib will put him out for 6-8 weeks and limit his training it is extremely painful and there is no magic cure but rest.
He would have had the clubs blessing I would think and I doubt he is would be in cattle class on easyjet

wtf

As long as Sergio is not badly injured that is the main thing. His health and well being is worth more than any football game. Injuries on the pitch are one thing but injuries whilst travelling in a car are something else entirely.

We have a great squad of players and we shouldn't need to panic. I really don't think we have a lot to worry about as a team

Get well soon Sergio.

The full quote from the club (including a key bit you missed) is:

"Sergio Aguero will be assessed by Club doctors today after being involved in a road accident on Thursday.

The City forward was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries.

He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash at Chelsea.

Mancity.com will bring you all the latest on Sergio as we get more news."

Are you fishing. Sincere question?
I think he's bang on! imo

They will also have Ibrahimovic coming back to provide further depth as striker cover.

Yep, their strong in that area.

If it ends up being a couple of months then Gaby can't play twice a week for that period. We'll have to rotate Sane, Sterling in that position as well.

I know and I know footballers have to have a life and do stuff, probably me over reacting due to anger and disappointment. It sounds like a freak accident, we do seem a bit cursed at the moment.

I aint one of the few.

We can survive this, it's not the end of the world and we have done without Aguerro before (And not even had Jesus). I remember playing false nine shit and we did well.

Chelsea will think their numbers all came up at once, I think we're more dangerous when we are forced to change things

Why? He would have been back in training today? It would also have to have been pre-arranged with the club.
Like others, it struck me as a bit odd Aguero would have had yesterday off seeing as we were playing Chelsea tomorrow. I would have thought Wednesday-Thursday would have been his day off.

If his crash was in the early hours of this morning, by the time he got to Manchester and to bed, it'd be time to get up for training. It just seems a bit odd.

I am as upset as the next man that Kun maybe out for some time, but to say we are cursed is a total over reaction. We have the best club and players in the league and that is a huge positive which should never be overlooked. We are the envy of most clubs who would love to have our players (injured or not), so forgive me for not crying along with the masses on this setback.

As for Mendy - Absolute beast going fwd, buy still far too naive defensively hence my comment re Delph and one for now I will stick with. If you disagree - no biggy
