with the form that sane and sterling are in, I don't know how anyone can leave even one of them out the team. With aguero out, the front three picks itself. would go with 4-3-3

This formation normally turns into 3 at the back at vertainpoints during a game with fernandinho slotting in at cb and de-bruyne and silva as the midfield two ahead of the defence.

I don't think Sane was great the last game. I going with Bernado over Sane. I think its his time to start.

In both systems I want Sane and Ilkay as my options off the bench
 
Sorry haven’t seen or heard peps presser has he hinted if the likes of Diaz will be on the bench as back up striker,would just love it if he came off the bench say 20 min cameo and smashed in the winner,we are due something like this as how many times has it happened to the likes of the rags with injuries and they threw a young lad in and lo and behold they bag the winner ( obviously if it did happen for us the media wouldn’t go into overdrive hailing him as the next big thing) .

I rate bernardo but i'll never play him in the wing role ahead of any of sterling or sane unless one of them is out of form.

He had a difficult first half hour or so, but after that pretty much scared the shits out of Shakhtar. He will definitely start - particularly with Mendy out, need his width on the left.
 
It really is pretty crazy how clinical Chelsea are, as Pep pointed out. Such few shots (relative) & a shit ton of goals. So easy to get punished from a team like that.

Almost the complete opposite of current Liverpool
 
Im getting the same feeling about this game as I do about the rag games, I suppose because its so much in focus in the media, and now this latest news re Aguero seems like we are jinxed. It feels like a bad omen on top of the unexpected Mendy injury, Vincent is a huge miss as well.
Apart from the loss of these 3 players I feel Otamendi is our weaklink, I think they will pull him wide attacking down the channels and he will become isolated out wide and through lack of speed end up on his arse again. Really wish Vinny was fit.
Wonder if Pep will play 3 or 4 at the back ?

Its vital that Pep motivates these lads psychologically, dont want a repeat of last season when we fell apart after losing DeBruyne and Spurs shit all over us.
Remembering what happened last season in the 2 games against the chavs is frustrating as we couldve easily won both games but when KDB missed that tap in it seemed we were doomed.
Id definitly keep KDB in his deeper role as I think our defence is profiting from him being nearer to Fernandinho.
Anyway my line up would be;

I'm nervous but I'm excited. Stanford Bridge is one of those grounds you just never feel confident going to. I'm sure that's how teams feel coming to the Etihad but I hate playing big games away too stressful!

Wouldn't be surprised if pep has kev, silva, Bernardo and gundogan squeezed in to the team tomorrow. Fully expect us to have 3 at th back to accommodate more midfielders.

I'd prefer we stick with 4-3-3 and Sterling Jesus and sane as the front 3.

If its a 352, I'd expect Sterling and not Sane to be the other striker.

Just a gut feeling I have. But you are probably right. More likely than not he is not gonna throw in a new against the toughest opposition on the road. I like Kun's lineup bit with Sterling instead of Sane.
 
I am a bit anxious about this one, with the Aguero news the team must feel a bit shaken up. I think Ferna and Gundo in midfield for tomorrow. This is a game that if we can not win we shouldn't lose, Still think we will edge it. 2-1 for City
 
I've just realised with aguero being out, whos likely going to be our penalty taker?? it used to be yaya...
