Mooy was sold to get some inward cash flow and because he is an average to good player no more. A shutdown of him is not required. If we turn up with good attitude this game will be won with comfortable ease. I predict a 4-2 with a couple of sloppy concessions.

It needs Silva and Sane to play, or we will struggle like the other night, with everything played pedestrian side-to-side and our backs to goal,

Hopefully Sterling turns up again and we don't fall into the trap of the first FA Cup tie.
And Delph doesn't let the home fans get to him.

If they think playing United prepared them to play us as they play in a "similar way" I'm afraid they are going to be very disappointed!

Tuesday was also yet another lesson in how much of a poorer side we are with David Silva.

Was that a grammatical error or did you mean to say we are poorer with David?

My thought on Tuesday was that each time we play without David we don't seem to break teams down as well. I tried to put my finger on the reason and failed. When we had one stand out player it was obvious if they didn't play we would struggle. But now we have brilliance all over the pitch but take David out and we are not as destructive to defenses.

It certainly was an error!!!!!!! He's still a massive miss, whatever we have on the pitch. I think it was at Napoli where he didn't play, we brought him on and suddenly they couldn't get the ball from us. We went up another gear again. As you say, we are less reliant on him, but we still miss him.

I hate to use the cliché but he will be the first name on the teamsheet.
The man is a genius but he was on the bench in Naples and we still played amazing stuff we can cope if he needs a rest more likely to be midweek however.

When Dave doesn't play Bernardo or foden need to play in his place

We did not go up another gear he helped us close out the game after an amazing display by the lads who started.

just seen the desperation sky sport news.
Danny Higginbottom suggesting a team outside the top six can beat us playing the Leicester way. Think even though he has connections to the rags he is a reasonable pundit.

Well we all see things differently. I can't remember exactly when he came on, maybe at 3-2 up, but I can remember that we totally dominated the game from that exact point onwards because we started playing the Come-and-get-it possession game and he was at the centre of it all.

The same Leicester we comfortably beat on their own patch in second gear last week?

If Higginbottom had the blueprint for a struggling side to beat City, he’d be a highly sought after manager, not a second rate pundit.

Bravo
Zab, Ota, Stones, Kolarov
Delph, Fernando
Navas, Fernandinho, Nolito

Aguero

Wasn't a trap really. Just a weakened cup lineup.

I think this time we will be able to offer a bit more creativity...
Certainly more than rags did.

Hope for any clean sheet win.

PEP: We played last season against them and were not able to wi. We realised how complicated it is to play there. At home, they have had good results. When they decide to make high pressing, they are so well-organised. Like every game away in the PL, we will try.

At home they have a good record, but the opposition has been weak - Newcastle, Southampton, Leicester, West Brom. They've faced 2 top 6 teams, Spurs (who smashed them) and United who they obviously beat but that was a genuine case of United being completely wank and Huddersfield getting goals handed to them on a plate.

I'm inclined to think we'll be more like Spurs than United personally.

Mangala/Kompany vs. the high press will be a worry. Kompany isn't as bad as Mangala but is nowhere near as composed on the ball under pressure as Stones or Otamendi, and is prone to a heavy first touch every now and then.

PEP: We have a lot of players scoring goals. We cannot win the title just with one or two players scoring. Our attacking midfielders, especially and our defenders have been scoring goals. That is good.

PEP: (on @PhilFoden) We are so pleased. It is so important for clubs to have players from the academy. Here he has so much support. Whether he will play depends in quality and his development. (@VincentKompany is) ready to play tomorrow.
