fair enough, Redmond was clearly time wasting and got booked for it.. every fan was thinking it and he was brave enough to say it to his face. Something we see regularly at lower leagues/

I realise there is a media thread but what was written to day by Samuel Luckhurst was aboslutley outrageous .and well below the belt .For the Evening News to be advocating for the F A to look into Peps discussion with a Southampton player with with the clear ipmlication that a ban should be the order of the day .It bad enough it being written by a Uni*d journalist but it must of been been aproved by the the Sports editor as well .Disgracfull piece of journalism doent come close to describe it .It something expected from the Sun not our local paper

I've just read a piece in the MEN ridiculing any claims to discipline Pep for the conversation. That's how it works, shock jock polarising stuff, just like when there are two presenters on Talk Sport.

Getting you in a lather is what they want.

Brennan has countered it by ridiculing it. That's what much of the media does - gives 2 sides to stimulate "debate". Listen to Talksport as the perfect example.

By getting into a lather you are playing into their hands.

National media maybe, but not your local paper FFS!

Of course they do. There are two teams in Manchester and they are just trying to appeal to both sets of fans. It's extremely old-fashioned, time-served journalism to try to fool the readers into getting outraged and joining a debate.

Phil Thompson was waxing lyrical about City in general and Sterling in particular on SSN today. Talk about the worm turning and long may it continue.

That's because the narrative will shift to "Liverpool product Raheem Sterling..."

The writer has got the numbers the wrong way round. What he meant to say was that City's lead was about to shrink from 8 points to 6 points when Sterling scored.

It's nice to go on a footy forum and take a break from mansplaining to the wife, isn't it?
:-)

Dont think so mate it an outrageous piece of journalism by our local paper and i am perfectly entitled to express my view simply doing nothing or agreeing with it is giving him a green light.what would you say if Pep got banned due to his reporting of the incident

This is just as outrageous, though. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.../man-city-guardiola-redmond-reaction-13975481

They want you to be outraged. It keeps them alive.
One of the main reasons the MEN is a commercial basket case is because of this sort of mindless clickbait. Over the years they have managed to alienate both City and United fans because of this sort of juvenile coverage. Most of the users of their website are overseas rags fans (and probably increasing numbers of non-local City fans) but its local readers they need so they can attract regional advertising revenue. Their mindless sports coverage is accelerating their demise.

Andy Dunn joining in now. Apparently Redmond should be praised for not punching Pep.

Am I the only one bemused as to why none of these journalists have spoken to Redmond about how he feels? He would have had to walk through the mixed zone, they could all contact him directly on twitter (a surprisingly common form of journalist-player contact these days) and yet no one has relayed if Redmond cared about it at all.

According to the Mirror Nathan Redmond should be congratulated for not clocking Pep. They really, really hurt.

Well they banned Sterling for scoring the winning goal at Bournemouth , so we could be looking at a six game stadium ban for Pep for his verbal attack on Redmond , and dont get me started on aggressive walking.
