Utd v City post match

We keep the ball well, and pass it well. The only thing wrong is that the shots on target ratio to shots off target needs to be improved. Only 7 shots on target from 14 shots at goal is just not good enough, that part of our game needs to be improved. Time for pep to get the players in for extra shooting practice.

We played well in the circumstances. A match of such potential significance is always likely to have some sort of detrimental effect on performance. I think our players were trying to hard not to get it wrong in their box.

The most impressive thing for me was how well City fought for that victory: the effort was outstanding.

We do need to make life easier for ourselves in the next few games by being clinical early in those games.

the good thing is now teams are playing against the fear of what we can do, rather than what we actually are doing. I suspect a team like Spurs will try something different, but hopefully that will open the game up and get us in the groove and we can outplay them.

50% is what we were doing earlier in the season, difference was it was also 50% on the converting shots on target which has dropped, but we're playing with 2 out of form strikers and still winning every game, once they get back into form hopefully the goals will flow again.

And that is so important.

I don't think we have ever really achieved the position where opponent after opponent is beaten before they step on the park in the way that both Liverpool and United have managed in the past but we might actually be getting there. I think the next two games will be telling on this matter.

We are already there. It's one of the reasons for all the late goals. I've never seen a team look more like champions in waiting.

I think somebody is hurting today. I’ve got a City number plate and woke up this morning to find some poor little cherub had walked up my drive and written **** and Nob in the snow on my bonnet. Must be somebody who knows me.

It's looking like a city player will win the PFA player of the year award this year. The question is who. It seems every month another city player stakes his claim.

The 3 obvious candidates from the season so far are: Silva, Salah and KDB. Hard to split those 3 for me but Silva is well overdue the recognition.

Pep changed Sterling's position after 5 minutes to counter Mourinho's plan and give KDB more space.

Well, I certainly think those late goals help to create the aura but I am not convinced some teams don't think they can hold us off and do damage on the break.

I can't disagree with your last statement but I am still not at the point where I could not envisage how things could go wrong; not that I am paying that much mind but I am very much in the one game at a time club. Complacency would be my biggest fear.

I'm just sat watching the game again it's on mutv with Crerand and he has just come out with a belter. City bringing on Mangala for Jesus on 58mins it's a bit early to go defensive but they going for 5 ta the back or as many as they can. Hahaha seriously not got a clue how we play.

I think teams are trying to hold us off as they have no choice, but we will be much more solid when Stones is back.

There's no way we will lose this from here, OB1. The ribbons are on the trophy for me already.

I suspect Stones was a bigger miss for us yesterday than Pogba was for them.

We aren't giving our opponents many choices that is for sure.

The litmus test, domestically, for me will be when we go to Anfield and The Emirates and regularly do what we are doing at the Swamp.

Stones's absence for me has been the reason for us scoring less. We miss his passing between the lines from the back as well as his aerial presence. Whilst Delph has done well, Mendy's absence has been a big one too. Although if we'd carried on with the three at the back there would have been fewer opportunities for Sane and Sterling to shine like they have, so that cloud had a silver lining.

Point taken about Anfield and The EMirates, but after what we did at Chelsea and Man United, I expect us to go there and dominate too. Nothing will stop this team.

I really want to see what we can do with Mendy in a back four.

I really like Delph: he's a smart player and will keep getting better as a full back but Mendy has an ability to go outside and cross a ball that looks exceptional to me.

Mendy and Sane looked like they'd played with each other for 10 years when they got the chance to play together. That partnership would be a killer.
