Oh no, it sounds like it’s not even worth turning up, especially as their away record at top 6 sides over the last 3 or 4 seasons has been so good. Arrogant cunnts

The way we played against them last season at home we deserved to win but were wasteful in front of goal and conceded too easily (even if one of them was slightly offside). This year we have improved and spurs have dropped down a level. Like many have said, the run has to end at some point but if we take this game as a one off then we should be favourites. Our confidence is high, the football we are playing is incredible and we have gone advantage. No complacency please. Come on City.

Spurs on their day are probably the best team we can face in the PL. Yet the seem to be like us last year in not getting the results vs the other top teams. And we do win them all so far. Away at Arsenal and United I thought they were simply poor. We battered them at home last year only for the ref to ignore a clear penalty as Spurs crawling back to 2-2 against the run of play.
It’ll be a cracker but again I expect us to win it.

Danny Rose again, plenty to say him about us over last few months,is he pissed because he didn't get his move to us,or coming out with chat like this to win over the rags and get a move there ?

Either way it's another example of a player chatting shit and will be made to look foolish Saturday evening

Not quite the the ballet on ice, but a very agreeable second best for those of us lucky enough to have been at Maine Road that day in 1977... particularly as I was just a little too young to have attended that legendary performance some nine years earlier

To young to remember that game! but i do remember us playing spurs at maine rd & after about 20mins the ref made us go off & change into our away kit ‘cos spurs played in white & light blue but cant remember the yr?? poss late 80’s early 90’s??

I see Jermaine Jenas is using his BBC platform to motivate Spurs as best he can. They are desperate for us to lose.
Of course they are. Obviously anyone with ties to any of the other "title challengers" will want us to lose, but even neutrals should want us to start dropping points now, otherwise the season becomes very boring.

Personally, I hope we win another 15 on the bounce.

All true. There's the small matter of us being at home as well, not that we've been exactly flaky away! But home is an advantage.

We won't have to put up with the unmowed grass the cheating twats tried on us last weekend for a start.

Tbh Spurs & also Chelsea, have been a lot more respectful & less bitter about City recently. The opposite of that sour **** down the road, who thinks him & his shower of bus parking dogshite, can disrespect us all week, but then should receive respect from us, when we turn the ****s over.

If Spurs show us due respect, & can come here & beat us, fair & square, I don't have a problem with it personally.

I don't think it will happen, but if it did, I would have no great animosity toward an opponent that did it that way, as opposed to all the bitter shite we have had to put up with from the likes of Wenger & Mourinho & fucking Harry, when he was around.

It's funny all this talk of Spurs beating us, they weren't so pumped up when they went to the swamp, they didn't even turn up !

They've gone strangely inconsistent in recent weeks but I still think Spurs are the best team in England after us. I think this will be our toughest league match so far this season. I'm going to predict 2-2.

Spurs will be without two first choice defenders, Alderweireld and Sanchez.

Vertonghen is on 4 yellows and should be targeted. Then have Burnley away next and will likely find themselves below Burnley in the table after this weekend. He would be a major loss for Spurs in a very important game in the battle for top 4 so will be instructed not to get a yellow card under any circumstances.

We need to start Sane-Aguero-Sterling, rest of the team picks itself.

Spurs have regressed since last season so I’m confident we’ll win. What have they done this season??!?? Lost to Chelsea, rags and Arsenal in the league. Beat Liverpool 4-1 thanks to two horrible mistakes from Lovern that directly led to goals which happened only 12 minutes into the match, yes 12 minutes and Lovern was later substituted in the 30th min. Yes they beat Real and Dortmund both of which were terribly out of form. Not much of an achievement really. Out of the league cup despite going up 2-0 against relegation battling West Ham. They are bottlers. Won’t be an easy game as they hate us and will treat it like a cup final most likely, for them this will be chance to win an imaginary trophy of ending City’s winning run given they won’t win any trophies again this season and will see an exodus. I hate Spurs and hope we destroy them to be honest.

The challenge I think we've had for the past season and a half, is that whilst we have our usual controlled possession, the downside is the opponents can get organised and set themselves up to defend properly. Our chances are often half-chances agains teams with 11 men behind the ball, defending for their lives. Whereas when we lose the ball, our opponents sometimes have much more clear cut chances, because we are high up the pitch with our defence all over the place.

This was particularly apparent last season and was the cause of several of the adverse results in games where we controlled the game, had umpteen chances compared to our opponents have hardly any, and yet we came away with only a point or less.

Against lesser teams with less clinical attackers, we usually get away with it, but when facing a Vardy or Kane or Costa for example, often we get punished. I think this is nailed on for tomorrow and I am certain we'll concede against Spurs, and perhaps more than once.

So the question is, can we make our vastly superior possession and many more chances count? And can we attack counter-attack Spurs quickly before they have time to get organised? Take our chances (even if they are only half chances) and we win comfortably.

If the derby was our biggest test of nerve, this may be our biggest test of football ability. Spuds are a good team, albeit inconsistent. If they hit form, it will be a real battle and a great game. City 3-1.
