General Videogame Thread

I've got all those games apart from Everest. Resident Evil is an absolute experience it's totally brilliant and scary haha. Gran Turismo is ok but u can only use VR on single player. Skyrim I'm currently putting my time into again and it's also brilliant and it takes forever to fully finish. There's a game called Farpoint which was also very good I got the motion controller gun version which made it a better experience. There's a few releases coming out also over the next couple of months which I can't wait for 1 called Brazo team army based looks good.

As for the motion sickness make sure you don't play with an empty stomach that seems to work for me. I'd usually start to get sick after 30 mins but lately I've been playing Skyrim for 4/5 hours at a time with no problems at all on a full stomach ha.

Plenty of games around for it now I'd say buy 1 if u don't like it I'm sure you'll get most your money back buy selling it on.

Stay clear! It's pay to win. i.e. Unless you're willing to pay real money to progress and unlock characters, you're not going to like it. Someone calculated the amount of hours it would take to unlock the 'heroes' (vader, Luke skywalker etc) and it's ridiculous (hundreds of hours). EA have purposely made it tedious to progress to ensure people pay real world money to open loot boxes..loot boxes are the only way to progress. EA are deservedly coping it and getting bad reviews....fuckin rogues! I won't ever buy another EA game again out of principle.

Because I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st one. So I take it you dont rate the new game at all? I'll stay away from it then, shame really I had high hopes for it.

Totally gutted that EA have taken that route with the star wars franchise, and they should lose the rights to producing future star wars games imo. The backlash has been quite severe with fans not buying the game because of this situation. Apparently £3bn wiped of EA’s stock value.

I had heard they were dropping the pay as you go loot boxes because of this - not heard anything though ?

It's been removed. It will be back though when all the ho har has died down...i.e when they need to milk the cash cow.

Just stay away. 20 quid...just about worth getting. 50? Stay the fuck away.

Oh...and EA have dramatically reduced the time it takes to unlock the big names. It's still a mad idea though, might work on a console but to try that with a PC game...

Wanna play Vader? Just play 40 hours and you can. Oh...and give us 50 quid as well.

My wife’s looking to get a new Gaming Laptop (she’s currently got a 2-3 year old hi-spec HP Envy).


Budget is ~3k (euro), ~2.5k (sterling).


Any thoughts would be appreciated.
