Anyone hear that City fan on talksport earlier who said he has been told/ heard that Van Dijk and an attacker is coming in January but we will lose a name that many might not be happy with?
YES! name was Bob? kept calling him Joey because he got mixed up with Barton :D Basically said the deal for VVD was done to City, another caller said the exact same last week...
I think maybe? he was talking about Aguero going not sure who else everyone would not be happy with etc.

I didn’t hear his say Aguero, which I initially thought was whom he was alluding to, but then I wondered if it might be Yaya going NYC.
Either way this `January window is going to be chaos on here as usual by the looks of it.

Yes sorry, I meant "I think" he was talking about Aguero when he was talking about it, but now you have said it, could be Yaya..or he could know nothing haha, some guy who lives in Dubai came on the other day saying the same thing about having a deal tied up I believe.
I could go on saying that but doesn't mean I am ITK :D However, everyone loves a good story..

He's been playing with his lip stuck out since the summer. Liverpool have rinsed Southampton over the last 4 years, but I think meeting up with VVD in public was a step too far.I can't see his absence being a clear signal he has a deal in place, think he is out of form and the manager is dropping him. There is still what 2 more matches to the window even opens and I doubt he will have a straight forward early window transfer there are just too many interested parties. Hope I'm wrong though.
Southampton might be ready to take the commercial view that selling him for a decent price now makes good financial & playing sense.
To also sell any club but the Dippers might also be an act of vengeance & one in the eye to them too, but in these situations, money usually talks.
Fuck knows in this crazy market, but suffice to say it always sticks in my craw that we didn't take a punt on him for £8m when he left Celtic, when it was obvious he was worth the risk.
Perma-injured Kompany, pensioner Demechelis & Mangala were never going to suffice & it seems it took Guardiola to recognise & do something about this.

Haha bit of exaggeration that point being it won’t be 70m cash be clauses in the fee before they actually pay that much which is fair enough if Southampton except them.

well it's an interesting one with Liverpool, they already have a fortune invested in Keita, Can if he goes will go cheap/free or will stay on the wage bill with a raise, if you add Van Dijk in they're really stretching the budget without sales, that's without a keeper, second centre-back and full-backs they evidently need.
No guarantee on Coutinho money seeing as Griezmann could end up cheaper.

All the rumours seem to be he's going to Liverpool.....Think he would be a great signing and would be my 1st option but Ota and Stones seem to be our starting CB's when fit, so cant see us spending 50-70mil on a backup....a signing like Inigo Martinez seems more realistic as a Jan signing and would seem to fit into a rotation easier...

This one promises to get interesting especially as there were other reports saying if LFC drop their price for Coutinho to say £110m - £120, with a sale or two, Barca could get both him & Griezmann
This also places question marks over Iniesta's immediate future because saving on his wages & a significant sale of let's say, Sergi Roberto, Barca would be within striking distance of getting both players.

As a born and bred dipper (Him not me) I am assuming VVD would have the same mindset as other red dippers it is their year next year, so he is more likely to join them IMO.
Not if coutinho leaves pal.
I feel these signings will be made to also persuade players like Coutinho and Can to stay
