Not so sure about that, Frank.

I am pretty sure there was a thread in this very forum. Best player I have seen at City was, like everybody else Messi, but actual performance it would be I would say Henry, Dumitrescu, Waddle. Berbatov was incredible for spurs in those two cup games. Merry Christmas by the way.

Merry Christmas to you too, Frank :-)

Except he didn't play for the team the posters supported, poor response there frank, too much turkey?

That is a fair point but just highlighting there is a valid reason why not everyone would say Messi, Ronaldo.

You could actually look at it as a slight to the likes of Gerrard, Suarez that she stated Litmanen a guy who was coming to the end of his shell life....but maybe thats pushing it.

I cannot blame the turkey as it would hardly be used as an excuse for my other posts.

Nah the real reason is, she's just a moron.

Zola was unbelievable in one Chelsea game and City fans stood up and applauded him off when substituted, way back in the Maine Road days.

Vague memories of that. Waddle gave Mike Quigley a torrid time when he filled in at right back one match (think Warhurst scored twice) circa 1993 and Dumitrecu in the 5-2 against Spurs.

I can think of a league cup quarter final match v QPR in 1969 at Maine Road where Colin Bell was absolutely magnificent, which easily beat that performance of Berbatov. But it's all a matter of opinion, isn't it?
I think the point was more to do with performances against us, hence the reference to Zola's display at Maine Road.

Beats me.
Like I've said before I've given up listening to the Times podcast because of her.
I just started paying for the telegraph instead. I did not know much about this Rudd character but a quick google was enlightening. With no stretch of the imagination you read what she writes on any football forum with a few fingers in ears posters tapping their nonsense all to regularly. For example i saw a post by a chap called paxbo or pexbo on redcafe stating we are not important etc, proper bitter funny stuff. I see no difference in what she says and posters like that who are borderline wums.

That is supposed to be one of our best media outlets. Why do they allow her a platform to promote such nonsensical rubbish? Is it because she is a woman and in a male dominated world that it would look bad to sack her or do they feel her views are not in fact divorced from reality and see what she writes is perfectly fine and reasonable.

I've always found it peculiar that in the States, where ephemeral nonsense is everywhere, their sports journalism in all its forms is so much better than here, it seems they'll accept bull about almost anything except sport, but here there are precious few sports journalists or broadcasters worthy of the name, it seems as consumers we're happy to accept a very low bar.

You often hear the criticism "they're stealing a living" but for the most part UK sports journalists (for want of a better word) really are.
