I feared for our streak today but team displayed character and determination like they have been doing all season.

Frustrating amount of chances missed, not Kun's best day but he'll be back.

If it wasn't for that wonder save from their keeper from Kun's header we'd have won about 6-0. God I long for an absolute smashing of someone, almost every chance going in!

I wish we could be just that bit more clinical in these tight games. Great creating so many chances against such a nebative team, but we have to put more of them away.

Big drop in effectiveness from David Silva to Ilkay & Bernardo, although both are still very good players and did ok tonight.

I hope other teams don't play us like this and conserve energy for a late push, it'd be fucking galling to concede late equalisers or worse against a shit bunch of bus-parkers.

Actually thought the ref was ok tonight compared to some, apart from missing that early challenge on Ilkay.

Never look the same when Silva 2 and Gundog play. They are just too slow in mind and body. Kun not at his best but fucking hell Jesus has gone to the dogs lately. Should never have been hanging on against that newcastle side.

Jesus doesn't look a goal threat currently that's for sure.

Newcastle! What can you say? For seventy odd minutes that was the most tedious, soul destroying performance from a professional football team I've seen in a very, very long time.

One of the starkest cases of parking the bus - especially first half - and we still created a lot of chances, made it a little nervy as we just took the one. It's like the game's in slow motion for my motm KDB: saw the runner, thinks for a moment and executed immaculately finding Sterling who finished very nicely. Otamendi pretty much a colossus these days, perfectly timed leap for the goal line clearance. Very sad for Kompany again. Maybe not a masterclass this time but still 18 wins on the spin!

So, after 20 games the top two stand like this

Rags 43 Points +27gd

What that means is that the maximum points they can get is 97 (not that they are likely to). Another way of putting it is that 39 more points - 13 wins - gives us the title assuming they don’t catch us on goal difference.

And every time the rags don’t win, that number falls.
