They said £86m for 2 goalies signed since Pep arrived then named Eddie and Bravo

They also had our total at almost £420m and rags st £315ish - all to suit their narrative

Steve Nicol on ESPN was sticking up for us last night. To be fair the full panel were full of praise and Nicol pointed out that 8 out of our starting 11 were signed by previous managers and Pep has worked to improve each and every one of them. He also said that the referees need to have a look at the way teams are targeting our players as there have been 3 potential leg breakers on us over the last few weeks, resulting in two yellow cards. He also massively slagged of Jose.

I like Nicol because he says things as they actually are with no favoritism and he has a very dry sense of humor
 
I like ESPN FC with Nicol, Burley, Hislop etc. It's very unprofessional with the interruptions and arguing but entertaining to me. I much prefer a normal chat about football rather than touchscreens, graphics and everyone doing a Rinus Michels impression.
 
Its hard to look past the NBC pundits and commentators. We're blessed to have the best in the business over here. Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe are absolutely lauding us at the moment as they are all the footballing teams like Spurs and Chelsea. The commentators are first class.

God yes, the touch screen usage on MotD is dire. Just get them setup pre-programme.
Last season when they had a pre-record from the studio to a player/manager after a match was also useless.

Commenting on players tweets is dire as well (just have them on screen).

I do however like the mini stat tables they show sometimes....
 
While nowhere near the level we got, it's nice to see another club getting stick for spending big (silly big) money on a defender. At least on "social media" if nothing else.
 
The thing I find rather telling is the total lack of self awareness/reflections on their past comments, scribblings or words of wonder on tv.

In the opening stages of the season, right up until the derby most pundits were offering similar opinions.

Early season when 'experts' were predicting their picks for best signings, best starting xi's and strongest teams. Rarely did we see a City player.

Unanimously we didn't have the best keeper, nor the best defence.
Matic & Lukaku were the signings of the seasons. Kolasinac was the deal of the summer.

We were battling forces of nature like Mourinho's second season. If Spurs could sort their home form they'd be right up there with a great attack & strongest defence.
We had a arrogant manager who needed to adapt his fancy ways.
Let's not forget the fab 4 at Liverpoll.

Ironically it was us and Chelsea that were to fare the worst. The two teams likely to finish top 2.

Even up until the last few weeks we'd not been tested, we could still be got at. The winter months were where we'd struggle.
We couldn't cope without Kompany.

Weirdly many pundits and experts did tip us to win the league, likely knowing that they were mainly talking shite.

Now it's down to the money. Now their comparing spends. Like this am when we'd spent £86m on keepers. Total horsedhite.

Yet, it's just the one £34m keeper that's made any difference. In fairness, big difference.
He & Walker are the only constants this season along Stones, Sané & Jesus from the season before that Pep has signed.

Mendy has barely kicked a ball, Bernardo has only just started to show his worth.

More often than not Pep has been using players he inherited. Hopefully by the end of the season everyone will realise this.

Yes we've spent money, as have our rivals. But one coach has far outperformed his peers and that can not be denied.

Isn't net spend (arguably at least) also indicative of an inability to hold on to a team's best (ie expensively-priced) players?
