I take it you are not Sheikh Mansour’s financial advisor!

No!

Why give a crap about it,please tell me what the Sheikh will save.
We get him now at a cost but we also have him to strengthen the team massively.

In the summer we pay him the signing on fee that will be the same or near what Arsenal would have got.+we dont have this world class player in this squad for what could be the best season ever.

Live and learn son, live and learn.

Has he issued a 'come and get me plea' to Guardiola yet? Or is the deal about to be hijacked by the rags? Or perhaps Arsenal are proposing a player swap deal?

Been a while since someone “sonned” me, and unfortunately you’re far from qualified. If you think that paying £40M, plus £6M in pay before summer is the equivalent of his signing bonus in the summer, I fear for your finances, and knowledge of football.

£40M was LAST YEAR money. January is more like £15M with add ons, like £2M for FA Cup win, £5M for CL win in 2018, and half that in 2019, etc...

Given the BS Arsenal tried to pull last time, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they WOULD NOT do a deal in January, except at stupid money...and we are all out of that!

Seems a very similar scenario to Rodney. Who'd have thought that getting a player like Rodney would pan out the way it did. I would think that Pep would have played the Rodney game differently, but i can see this upsetting those elements within the squad that have delivered what we have now. He is undoubtedly a world class player, but Pep seems to have a little chapter in his bio that Mark Hughes had with RSC.

Now I agree with this totally, he could have that affect.
I don't think Pep would let it happen and with so many games coming, I think he will be a help rather than anything else.

very strange a team scoring to go 2-1 up in a tight away game and no one really celebrating with the goalscorer.
could it be open knowledge in the arsenal dressing room that we have made contact to sign?

They're the figures I was thinking about when it all fell through in the summer. Anything substantially more than this and I think we'll wait until summer. The one thing I do want is that this doesn't drag on all through Jan. Get it done early if poss.

The Rodney story really has become part of folklore and is largely incorrect. We were far from certain to win anything that season before his arrival.
It was a purchase to improve our chances which it probably did but because we under performed in the season

Probably annoyed because they want the move as well.

I really can't see him coming until the summer.
I think we'll sign a CB as backup for Stones & Ottamendi is essential, especially after Kompany's latest injury. Maybe we'll sign a LB with Mendy out for so long and Delph's injury record. I just don't think signing Sanchez is completely necessary and could maybe rock the boat a bit with a high profile signing coming in mid season whilst we are flying. Add to that the fact we can sign him for free in a few months is a no-brainer IMO.

Given we only have two strikers, and we are entering the latter stages of top competitions,in a very congested season......then leaving his signing until the summer is anything but a 'no brainer'.

The player would bring extra energy and dimension to a team that needs to keep up this incredible momentum.

Get him signed asap, more silverware will follow.

Rock the boat, was what I think he was getting at.
Bringing such a big name when all is going well could unbalance the team and that's the last thing that we need.
I just cannot see Pep letting that happen.

I'm not getting this "rocking the boat" talk, if you have that mentality you wouldn't sign anyone during the summer or Jan?

He strengthens our squad and gives us more options going forward whilst we're still fighting on all four fronts, Pep has created a togetherness in the squad and i can't see an addition in the forward line or defence hampering that to be honest.

Spot on, mate.

Personally, I reckon that a fee in the region of £30mil should be good enough for both sides to be relatively happy.
