Players can change their minds, but I can't see Sanchez choosing Liverpool or anyone else over us now. VVD chose the scousers just like Van Pussy chose the rags over us. We have fast emerged as one of the most desirable clubs in world football that top players want to play for. Pep pulling power swings it alot more in our favour nowadays.

You don’t force a move from Arsenal to play for Liverpool, whereas you do leave Southampton to play for Liverpool.

signing sanchez is not a gamble if we can win silverware this season ok the premier league is our best chance and if sanchez comes in and get goals again we would have it in the bag but for me anyway sanchez is key to champions league and going long it gives pep option on resting and recharging the front line for the very big games

the only downside to the move is upsetting others and a happy camp right now could easy be a unhappy camp very quick if things started to turn with sanchez in the team we all know sanchez is pep choice of player and knows his game but look at bravo it was pep choice over joe hart and how wrong was that
Pep is like any manager and will make the odd mistake but he differs from the rest by quickly recognizing these mistakes and by rectifying them rather than ridgidly standing by his mistakes in the hope that they will 'eventually' come off. He quickly moved out Nolito, and Bravo is consigned to back-up usage until he decides it is time to rescue his career elsewhere. I see no problem with adding Sanchez to the squad as any intelligent player would realise they cannot play 63 games plus International fixtures per season, and that Pep's team is shuffled one game to the next anyway. Any player who moans about being left out will soon be moved on, even if that player is Sanchez himself! There is another argument that hasn't had too much airing on this thread. While a new player [such as Rodney Marsh] can be unpopular [if such a move flops as it did with Marsh], there is the stronger argument that a top class signing raises the excitement amongst the squad itself because they know the club is going places and that they will have their profiles raised with the aquisition of each trophy won. A player may be benched for a key fixture, as already happens each week, but the other ten who play will be deliriously happy if the team wins and the medals and bonuses add up!

Yes ok believe what you want.

I forgot he started off there. Dippers will be able to form a full team of ex saints soon.

His did seem a strange move to me, but seemed more to do with lack of game time then moving up, but not sure he has played that much for Liverpool.

Arsenal do need to get their house in order!

VVD didn't choose the scousers over us, Pep has repeatedly said we never went for him, not this window, the scousers were the only team in for him which makes it more laughable they paid that much for him.

Alot of different takes on this, but whether he chose them over us or not, he was linked to us and Saints had them over for for 75mil.

Is it just me that thinks when he does sign he will be rotated with kev and david, keep reading its sane and sterling under pressure, yes he plays in them positions but I think he's more creative in the middle breaking down the buses we play against every week.

Not sure it will happen as a serious role for Sanchez but I suggested it as something which Pep could have in mind to try. And he might well do for small parts of games/parked busses etc

I would imagine it would be further down the line if it did happen as a regular job, rather than this season though but I could imagine Sanchez prolonging his useful career by playing where DS, KDB are playing. That gives us more options there & allows Pep to get an extra attacker into the team, which he likes to do.

Be interesting to see whether Pep gives it a go at some point.
