Really really excited now to be able to go after someone younger and who won't naturally decline in a year or two

Missing out on Sanchez whilst landing JFE will be too much for some i fear lol
@Rammy Blue I said this in the JFE thread but it may be worth repeating here: how hilarious would it be if—after all of the media wumming, pundit prognostication, twitter conjecture, club posturing, and supporter goading/gloating—JFE goes back to United and Sanchez comes to us?

In an honest assessment: there has been no development since the opening of the January transfer window - apart from the fact that we know he is leaving Arsenal.

Close to 4000 pages later.

We obviously dont value him that high and that's the crux here. Its not what we should have done to get the deal done, it's what we are prepared to do and if that doesn't meet Arsenals or Sanchez needs then we won't do it.
So all the talk on here of why Pep wanted him so bad and how we needed him to achieve our lofty aims this season were not shared by the club or indeed Pep. Sánchez was no more relevant to us than JE say.

If he is as close to the rags as people are suggesting i am surprised that we have not distanced ourselves from this already.

I suspect there is still some more mileage in this one

Not the point though is it, I don't think it's wise to be offering a 29 year old 400k a week when we're in the middle of negotiating new contracts with KdB and Sane, what signal is that putting out to future deals and contracts?
Especially with regards to KDB who unlike Sanchez is guaranteed to be a starter

You are missing my point. If we had offered Arsenal 30m on Jan 1st, personally feel Alexis, who allegedly agreed personal terms with us, would be lining up against Liverpool this afternoon.
No this is wrong. The reason Rags are ahead today because Malcolm is close to sign for Arsenal.today.They would have never sold him to us on 1st Jan bcoz they were without replacement then

Totally agree on this. A brilliant player and of course we need another attacking option, but personally feel that City are correct in deciding to walk away on this one. 30 years old this year and I'd hate to see Sane benched for him on a regular basis. Yes Sanchez is class but surely beyond his peak?

We did distance ourselves a few days ago, when we said we wouldn't pay the agent demands.
