Alexis Sanchez

Honestly I now think that utd have gone very public about this that they are extremely confident of signing him.

Reason I say this is that if Sanchez now signs for City even though utd offer more money ..... where does it leave them ?

Extremely embarrassed- and I just don’t see them leaving themselves exposed for that to happen.

It’s like VVD - if we did make overtures to sign him ( and got informed he was Liverpool bound ) we sure did them on the quiet to ensure we could always say ‘ City were not chasing him....’

They have not done this - hence why I feel they know he is joining them.
Where have the scum come out in public ?

Think its a mistake to let him go to utd (or to any of our rivals) ...its strengthens them hugely.....
Plus he has clearly been a target of ours for a while so Pep clearly sees him as something we need.......

I think maybe on this one we are being a bit too stubborn....and risking losing him is just not worth that....

So you would offer him more money than Utd ?

Didn't realise he is going to Chelsea or Spurs, or do you mean closest in distance. Don't get me wrong I would have loved him at City. 80m player for 20m. If he is being offered silly money and the rags are willing to pay it, then good for him. It's only a job to most footballers, albeit very well paid, but who on here would turn down doubling there wages for doing the same job.
If he goes to the rags it shows how short sighted their planning for the future is, and is possibly where they don't need to strengthen with their world class forward line (hahahahahaha)

So Utd sign him and it's short sighted but wouldn't be if we did? Let's not become them and make out we are the ultimate winners if they sign him. Also feel free to look at the league table when I said closest rivals.

The bottom line is he is yet to win the Premier league and league cup in England and also still has the champions league to tick off the list. If he is genuinely thinking of moving for his football goals he could end up with possibly 2 of those this season.

We will quite obviously find out very soon.

I'd ask him why the fuck he is chucking away such a fantastic opportunity.

If you can't see that's what it is, then you are a rag, on a windup.

From a football perspective it does look an odd decision but he may help the Rags to win things.

I'm not convinced City could not have handled this better. However, Aguero may stay now and may even be inspired to new heights.

How do think De Bruyne, Aguero, Silva react to hearing their teammate is on 400k a week?

But according to people on here, personnel terms (and Im assuming that means wages amongst other things) have already been agreed with Sanchez back int he summer....so what ever his wage demands are wouldn't have been seen as a problem......

We are holding out on the transfer fee which has let Utd come in...offer more to the player, agent, and arsenal themselves and its turned his head....our stubbornness not to pay what arsenal want is what has held this deal up and allowed utd to take advantage of that......if we had given arsenal what they want it would have been done when the transfer window opened

If he does end up at United it's not bad business at all. He's not exactly a player who defines our future. We set a value and stuck to it. He made the decision.

He'd have been great for the next two or three years but I only wanted him so others couldn't have him. I'd say there are better targets out there for us as a team.

At least then we can pursue longer-term options come the summer.

Is it not true? We wanted him, a big target in the summer an even bigger target now. We are not going to just lose out to him we are losing him out to our biggest and closest rivals. Mental

Depends how you define "losing out". If we offered him the same terms as united and he chose them, you could call that losing out. As it stands, it appears as though United are prepared to go ridiculous lengths to secure the signing. It would be completely stupid to match their offer at all costs. It was widely reported a couple of years ago that we'd been quite savvy in how we'd renegotiated our top players contracts. Now some people want us throw all of that out of the window all for the sake of beating united in a pissing contest when it's clear to anyone without an inferiority complex that we're streets ahead of them in every single department at the moment. Compromising how we do business to make a point to united would constitute losing out in my opinion.

It's mind boggling how quickly people lose confidence in the way the club is being run despite all evidence pointing to the fact that we're the best run club in the country. Even more ridiculous is the fact some people keep citing the signing of Mangala, something that happened three and a half years ago, as evidence that the club hierarchy are somehow clueless.

Also, why is he an even bigger target now than he was in the summer?

SNUBBED!

By the looks of things. What a shambles we are.

* Not really, couldn't give much of a shit where he goes to be honest. 15 points clear. Best squad already, Sanchez to them makes no real difference. Best manager in the world. The future is Blue and this won't affect that in the slightest.

Please tell me how its not? All I want is the best for the club and imo its better for us to have Sanchez to whatever it costs than United getting him. If Mou stays I doubt they'll ever challenge us but if he leaves they are having some good players. And I think having Sanchez would be great for us in the CL.
Who the fuck is Mou? Grow up lad, you only want sanchez so utd won't have him? What utter bollocks. Have you seen our stats this season sanchez-less? Go read them and have a rethink.

If the figures quoted are right though it's not astronomical amounts is it. We didn't want to pay what we did for Walker, Mendy etc yet we did

I agree with you, but the Club think differently. Who knows, it might turn out to be a mistake, but we are in a different position now compared to a few years ago, and we aren't exactly lacking in goal power
