That could go for any transfer ever.
Another nailed on one we "walk away from".

But it's true, if we don't pay up, we have 'walked away' haven't we ? How else would it be described ?

The alternative to us 'walking away' is that the player refuses to sign for us, on an equal deal. That hasn't happened inthe situations you mention, we have not been willing to pay the fees.

I really don't understand the 'pay whatever it takes to get him' mob. You have a valuation and you stick to it. If we went £1 over that, never mind £10m, I'd be more annoyed than missing out on a player - it's the road to ruin.

I realised that members of this mob have a joining date of 2017, so less than a year in Bluemoon. Need a baptism of the new City mentality really.

We are no longer a club throwing money at players. Long gone were the days of Robinho and Kaka. We want players who want to be part of the project and grow with the club and the fans.

Not sure what you are moaning about. Playing the best football weve ever seen. Just enjoy it.
Like the man sat behind me who at 5-0 up against liverpool moaned that we dont leave anyone up at corners

Might as well shut down the forum then until we lose a game.

The fact is that this is a discussion board where people can and should debate matters about the club. The fact that we are seemingly willing to pay £27 million on a back-up full back and are rumoured to be spending a similar amount of a 4th choice full back, whilst at the same time likely to miss out on a player who we have been after for the past 5 years, who would improve our starting 11 is worthy of discussion. If people were slagging of the club then that's a different story but I don't think anyone actually is.

Next time try and respond to the point I have made instead of telling me not to have an opinion on the matter.

Strange one for me that Sanchez supposedly had his heart set on joining up with us and pep,the £60 mill in the summer was accepted by arsenal but they couldn’t get a replacement in on time, and the rumours were Sanchez was livid as he thought it was a done deal.Roll on a few months and we had apparently assured him we would come back in for him which seems to be the case, but all talk now is he is off to the rags for more money which wasn’t a concern in the summer so what has changed in those 5-6 months...

I assume the club decided on what he was worth. That would take into account the fee, his wages, agents commission, signing bonus, everything.

And after deciding on that value they made an offer, and won't go above that. I don't see how we as fans can complain about that when they've shown how much they're prepared to spend if they deem it worth it.
One of the best forwards in the PL, considered by many to be "world class" only worth £20m in today's market.
We were bidding more than that for JFE!

The whole footballing world knows it was significantly below his market value. After he rejected Bayern and PSG in the summer, we thought he would only come to us.

He wanted us and we wanted him but we tried to be too cute with fees and we appear to have let him go to our local rivals.

You see it in black and white if you like. At the end you're right he ain't coming here. But there's more nuances to the game of transfers than that.
