Dont think so, we were always after a forward who can play anywhere in the front three
Exactly,an alternative to Sanchez.

Maybe Sane's injury and Silva's absences have prompted a rethink in terms of our squad depth should we sustain any further injury/absence.

Can’t be true, he plays in Sterling and Bernardo’s position?
He's a genuine left-footed RW, just like Sane. Like for like change. I also think he can be tried as false 9 - feels quite comfortable in tight spaces.

I know and I've been meminding everyone - twosips - in thread after thread as Tolmie said the same last week when the Sanchez deal went.

He implied Zaha was the option with his usual you tube stuff.

But this is not a sudden decision forced by Sane as the idea was also picked up by some reporters last week too.

I have been told I am over reacting to you and Tolmie but you both usually know what you are saying.

I couldn't be more certain that City have decided to bring forward a winger to this January if possible cos of the Sane injury. They were initially only 50/50 on the idea, relaxed about waiting till the summer. This is totally a reaction to the Sane thing. Decided to divert the Fred funds to somewhere else.

I said yesterday that City had moved on from Fred and wanted a winger...

If i was an ITK, i'd like to think i'd be like your good self. No attention seeking, just honest info you hear from time to time and not just following leads in the press.

If you hear something you post it in good faith, if you don’t know anything you don’t make stuff up either to please the masses. Good for you

If it's true we are going for him then the Leroy injury must be a long period. And we certainly don't want that.
Leroy has said himself its not as serious as they thought, so don't think this has any connection, more like it is to do with the new FFP regulations that may come in before the summer window.

I think a forward was going to happen in the Summer but we were hoping to get Fred this window and now looks like that has to wait so have probably decided to focus on this.

The possible restrictions before the Summer window must be a factor too in the hurry.

Would be a great signing but maybe its too late in the window. Love his direct style and the way he goes past defenders with ease.

If what Martin Samuel said is true re ffp 2.0, then City could have a bunch of players battling it out for various positions & sell on the ones who don't hack it, thus increasing the transfer budget for incomings above 90 mil.

So Mahrez is the player who refused to train this morning? Looks like he's trying to force a move then.

Only 26 too! I had the impression he was 29/30 but he's not actually much older than De Bruyne.

Would make a lot of sense.

He can play Champions League.
He isn't a superstar - has to prove himself at a higher level.
He can play fast counter-attacking football.
He can score goals out of nothing.
Still quite young.
We need another forward (2 out of 4 now injured).
He's a really good player.

Have some doubts as well, but can see why we'd take an interest.

Hope your right mate. I'll be happy when the length of his injury is confirmed, It's always in the back of your mind when it's still 'Unknown', Can't wait to have him back.

very bad news. Sane is likely out for months then if not entire season if it's true.

That might/might not be true. The idea we were considering a forward in this window is confirmed by twosips and Tolmie. Two good ITKs.

It was spoken of last week before the injury.

The two big things that have changed are that injury and Fred stalling. So why not bring the forward into more priority given that?

There has to be a possibility the injury might turn out longer than feared. But either way we were after Sanchez now before it happened at all so cover in that versatile forward area is not a shock.
