Riyad Mahrez

We have two wide players and people still think we don't have room for a guy like Mahrez? B.Silva and Jesus can play out wide like Lescott can play left back.

Surely I'm not the only one who thinks we can do without him, if the price is anywhere above £60m?

He's a player quite similar to Bernardo and we can reshuffle positions, play two up top and make necessary adjustments than make a panic signing who can very possibly become a serious baggage if it doesn't work well. Also it'd cost us more in terms of getting Fred or another CDM in the summer.

He has my full support if he comes, but I do hope we give some time to Brahim instead.

This is madness
1. He's not that good. He had a decent season the year they won the league then all but disappeared last year (apart from when they played us !). I haven't seen too much of Leicester this year but when I have he didn't stand out. I think Albrighton contributes more.
2. I know the market is out of control but on what planet is this guy worth 60m - let alone the 90m some people are throwing out there ?
3. Where would he play ? We have wide players - lots of them - and they are all better than this guy.

Mahrez is a great player, there’s no doubt about that, but, as I have said in the past, I would rather save the money and play Diaz when needed.

Diaz has huge potential, could do a job now, and will need to be given game time to avoid a (less petulant, mind) Sancho-esque situation. He can fill in over the next few matches and then split time with Jesus when he returns until Sane recovers fully.

Perhaps Pep disagrees with your thoughts on Diaz at this moment in time ?

Can't believe people are moaning about a potential panic buy. This isn't us looking at bringing in Scott Sinclair last minute, this is one of the best 1v1 footballers around. Yes it's a panic buy but so what when the alternative is we are playing in 4 competitions with 3 players for 3 positions and nothing but a 17 year old as backup.

I'd hope Txiki is doing everything in his power to get this done. If Leicester flatout dont want to sell, offer an absurd amount for a 6 month loan, itwould pay for itself in trophies. Mahrez gets to win a title and the chance to impress on the biggest stage, we get a player we desperately need and Leicester who do t really have anything to play for this season now get a wedge of money and still get to sell him in the summer for an extortionate fee

So you want to pay 50mil for a player for 6 weeks that couldn't lace the boots of sane
One aspect of any potential deal the other is that it would fill the space that the failure to sign Sanchez has left owing to certain similarities in style between the players.

Coutinho £105m upfront plus £40m in easy to achieve addons.
Dembele unproven went for similar amount.
Lukaku £75m upfront plus £15m in easy to achieve addons plus Rooney thrown in without a fee.
Van Dijk £75m (enough said)
Morata (perennial back up striker) £60m.

Mahrez proven premier league player, played pivotal part in winning the league with a much inferior side. Of course he’s worth £80m+ easily.

Rumours they want Mangala gone on a permanent deal. Jokes aside this will raise funds. Perhaps an extra 15million ish could meet Leicester's valuation.
