Let’s remember we have a number of injuries and an incredible amount of games to play over the next 2 months. Mahrez arriving has little to no effect on Diaz game time. If Pep thinks Diaz is ready, he will get games. If he’s not ready, he was never going to get the games anyway.

Why can so many people not see this is NOT because of Sane. It might have tipped the time scale a bit. But Mahrez is instead of Sanchez not because one player is injured. He was being considered when Sane was 100% fit.

We did not just bid for Sanchez because of an injury. As soon as that deal went south we started considering who we would go for next and likely had considered Mahrez ages ago as an alternative.

Probably might have waited to the Summer had Sane's injury not happened. But likely would have happened at some stage.

Am I right in thinking the African Cup of Nations is being played in June 2019? If so, Mahrez would not miss games in the winter as other players have done in the past. Gifted footballer, though has often struck me as a maverick, but if Guardiola can take him up another level, then amen.
