Squad Depth/Injuries mounting up

Silva injured himself with a silly challenge last night, so it's not all bad fouls or bad luck.

However, what irritates me more is when City continually understate the extent of the injury, particularly with Kompany and Delph.
We were told that Jesus was 4-6 weeks, and it's coming up to 5. Fair enough, if he's ready for Leicester, but now were "hoping" that he might feature in Basel

With all the injuries we have and especially the more long term ones, Mandy and Sane etc I wonder if we will have a fully fit squad at any point before the end of the season. Having everyone available for the final weeks of the season would be a huge boost should we still be in the Cup competitions. Desperate for us to beat Arsenal at Wembley, that puts us in a great position to kick on with at least one trophy in the bag and a very healthy lead in the league...

The left side has been decimated, Sane, Delph, Jesus, Mendy, its a credit to those that have covered that we've oped so well, but we need some of these back soon. The keep teasing us too, Mendy with his 'back soon' tweets, Leroy with his 'not as bad as it looked'. They all seem to take much longer than they/we expect.

I remember all my life
Raining down as cold as ice
Shadows of a man
A face through a window
Crying in the night
The night goes into

Morning
Just another day
Happy people pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made me

Oh, Mandy
Well, you came
And you gave without taking
But I sent you away

Oh, Mandy
Well, you kissed me
And stopped me from shaking
And I need you today
Oh, Mandy

Haha well played Sir... the joys of autocorrect!

KDB didn’t score on a similar shot last night as well. So he’s also unreliable.

And you know fine well that is disingenuous, that was a reply to someone sending a video of Diaz scoring in a friendly, less pressure and anecdotal when in reality in pressure moments, could you rely on Diaz doing that this season?. I actually replied to another poster saying that Diaz's issue is more inexperience than technical. KDB would not make the same mistake twice and my point went beyond finishing, it would also involve poor decision making when in goalscoring positions. You wouldn't choose Diaz in a one on one at this moment in his career over KDB so false equivalence. I don't believe you even think Diaz would be reliable enough to start in the big games.

Is there a Mendy song here somewhere?

Ok we have a few injuries , but do not expect any sympathy ,our squad is possibly the most expensively assembled in the world and despite injuries our front six were Dinho,Merlin,KDB.Bernardo,Kun and Sterling , its hardly scraping the barrel So lets get on with it , whoever comes into the team will do their job as Zinchenko , Bernardo , Gundagon , Danilo and Diaz have proved , leave the whining about injuries to PEG and the Swampdwellers

The good thing is that the squad aren't suffering that many muscle injuries. For the amount of intense sprints we do per game it really reflects very well on the medical staff and training methods that most of the injuries are not performance related but instead are down to out of control thugs being given carte blanche to hack down our players willy nilly.

If the refs up their game, we've got a big enough squad to keep this amazing season going all the way to the end.

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but what is the current status of Patrick Roberts? Understand he was injured in December & returned to Manchester for treatment, expected to be out until this month.
Is he returning to Celtic to complete his season long loan, or could he be used as much needed cover on the wing?

So we have Sane, Mendy, Gabriel Jesus and now Silva on injury list. At least we won't hear the "they haven't been dealt with injuries yet" excuse from pundits when we do something of worth.

Had a slight hamstring strain and Celtic played him to early and now has a full blown hamstring injury which was early December , which is anything from 8-12 weeks , he was back in Manchester getting treatment , but dont think there is an option to recall him when he is fit again , its a straight season long loan. But Roberts certainly would have been useful to have around the place with Sane and Jesus issues , although Diaz is looking a decent option

I don’t care what you believe. He looks more than ready.

You haven't even read my original post. I stated I have faith in the lad and feel he should start against the lesser teams until Sane/Jesus return. I had one caveat and that was that he can't be relied upon with his finishing and in pressure moments and it isn't even a criticism, it is because he is inexperienced.

Shame really as he looked good when he played in the Euro Youth league vs Juventus, and obviously the City v Celtic home game.
A couple of my Fulham supporting colleagues were gutted when he left, and perplexed why we loaned him out. I guess it's all about levels of performance.
