Burnley (A) Post Match Thread

I'm just a bit pissed off that we threw a game that we had in the bag I guess. I hope the players are as pissed off as I am, and not as happy as the other guy is. Being pissed off is good. "Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser", etc.
Show me the loser, let alone the good loser...!

It's not about being a good loser or bad loser. It's about accepting that we aren't going to win every game.
Shit happens and we have to deal with it, without resorting to slagging all and sundry.

I know you and the original thread aren't doing that, was just replying to the loser tag.

Been on the beer since full time so havent seen this thread.
For me....we murdered them for an hour but didnt take our chances because Sterling just had an off day, Aguero doesnt seem quite fit to my mind and is not as sharp as he could be for now, and De Bruyne tried to force it a bit today. We invited a bit of a rally from them and they scored from it. No big drama, not a loss, nothing major to see. Them early kick offs, and the late ones, are always odd games. Todays was ours. I dont see a drama myself, but am I in a minority?

Yes, you’re a fucking weirdo! ;0)

Sane is the biggest miss today, he makes the team balance better, with Sane on left, Sterling on the right, it all works far more efficiently gutted for the boy, he will be missed in next few weeks,
Agree - we normally have Leroy's smooth menace on the left and Raheem's more rough-edged tenacity on the right. However, this season our players have tended to come back from injury quicker than we have said they would publicly. It's bad sprain right ? No tear or rupture in the ligament and no loose ligament fibres floating round his ankle ? Some people are fortunate to have more elastic ligaments than others - less likely to tear and rupture. If Leroy comes back quicker than the club have said, I'm sure they won't have rushed him.

Yes, but with Leroys injury I wonder if any mental scars are there, a lot of people do not understand there is a mental aspect to injuries. Imagine if you were running on a field and you got hacked down, it can be a problem, hopefully not. But I hope the kid will be back soon.

I think the game showed that we moved on from him and he cannot keep up/does not suit this style anymore. He was a complete liability in that match as much as it pains me to say this.
Unless we play Manure (surely not), Chelsea, Spurs or Liverpool in the Ch League at some point, we're going to be in games where we don't necessarily have most of the possession. We'll need leadership with Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo coming at us. In those games Vinnie shows that there's no-one better at cleanly taking the ball off Messi and co and commanding the team. We've seen him do it. He's 31 not 41.

He also needs time. He hasn't played much, for quite a while.

Appreciate the vote of confidence. What's your take on the game?
Played well albeit a bit wasteful - which happens. Definitely some tired players out there, Walker asleep more than once and got away with it until the goal. No biggie, still 13 points clear with 1 less tough away to play. A few days rest will benefit the squad. I hope Dave is back soon.

the stats with and without david silva are amazing, hes missed 12 games since the fa cup semi v arsenal and we have won 50%
with david we have won 30+ lost none and drawn 1,he is a big miss for us.
