How many points to win the league?

Without tempting fate, if we were to win the league this season before the last home game would the trophy be presented then or would it be away against Southampton on the final day?

6 more wins will put us on 86 points, if one of them wins is against the rags then the most they can achieve is 89 points. However I have a feeling it will all be over by the time we play them.
Agreed mate just trying to put the lead into context. It’s huge.

Now before anyone starts I know we have never had it so good but part of me just wants this league over and enough points in the bag to have it done.

When we have done it in the past like the aguero year it seemed less stressful chasing than being in the lead and with such expectations.

Here I am at 12.15 at night doing bbc predictors to see possible permitatioms of results. Also if and when we get the league in the bag - for me any champions league progress is simply a bonus.

Don’t get stressed about that at all.

Hurry up and win it city! Can’t wait to sit and relax. Feel the title obsession has taken over my life. It was not this stressful under Pearce!

There’s this little shred of doubt (dread) where you think if we didn’t win it from here it would be the biggest kick in the bollocks ever. But then you tell yourself to get a grip as really you know it isn’t going to happen

It would be 100 times more stressful if we were 3 points ahead and not 13!!

I agree it is stressful WW can’t wait for the league to be sorted. I would love us to win the CL for our owners, Pep, and our present team. Also think we would be more accepted and young world class talent would be more keen to come here.

I'm 57 and I have found supporting City all these years has never been anything less than stressful. From our darkest days to now there's a part of me that cannot relax. Oh how I'd love to be able to bask in the glory of quiet satisfaction. I suppose I'm a born worrier!

A little. We deserve to win the PL and I think we will.
However doubt is part of lot of city fans dna which is hard to shift.
If we don't win it a lot of questions will be asked like did we burn ourselves out and succumbed to exhaustion with not enough players? Mahrez would have been good.

However fwiw I think we will win the PL and 1 other. The CL may be just out of reach but who knows?

Yes I'm feeling the burn now..so many injuries and lots of games to play..intense stuff on the big run in..we need a vocal home crowd behind the boys now.

Years gone by I was always stressed; right up to the point we were safe from relegation.

Nowadays it's a different kind of stress. I desperately want City to do well, but I don't want us to slip up as the Media and the Rag's will be f**king relentless.

I feel like this is the season we've been waiting for. They're walking the league, progressing in the cups and finally look like the real deal in Europe. Winning the league is always the most important to me and anything else is a bonus since it just means we get that many more chances to see them play. In spite of the injuries I couldn't be more confident and once they start to get guys healthy they'll be well rested and ready for the stretch run.

Now we are are 13 points clear and don’t have to concern ourselves with that unbeaten tag anymore the league isn’t at all stressful.

The only incidence I find myself stressing out at in the league games is us not taking our chances.

That Burnley game felt like defeat to me.

What is stressing me out is knowing how good we are this season and concerning myself that we might just - yes just - win the league.

Considering our quality on show this season I genuinely feel anything less than 2 trophies would be a huge let down after what we have seen so far this season.

I also feel that we as a team have the best opportunity of a Champions League since United in the late 00’s.

Anything other than a semi-final and I think we will have failed in Europe.

I don't think you can necessarily judge our success by the round we get to in an unseeded competition (as of the quarter-finals). Obviously it will be a big let-down if we don't get past Basel, but after that, it depends on who we draw. If we narrowly go out to a rampant Barcelona in the quarters, it'd be more of an achievement than getting the easiest quarter-final draw, then losing badly to Liverpool in the semis (I feel dirty just typing that last bit...).

yep im stressed ..its the 5th letter i"ve had to reject my licence fee....as a woman/man in transition do the BBC realise what they are doing to my mental state of health. In between shaving my legs and shaving my beard im going fuckin bananas....i refuse to pay gary linekars and danny murphys wages when females are on comparative wages....apart from stuart hall...

I can agree with that.

I think if we get knocked out by a Barcelona, PSG or a Bayern Munich then yeah, understandable defeat.

Being beat over two legs by an English side will be seen as failure considering outr dominance over them in the league this season.
