Good team. Just can’t see them having the mental strength to win the league next season. It’s one thing being strong when there is no pressure or expectation; but when the pressure is on they will buckle.

15 points - despite the fawning over the football they play in the media they are 15 points behind us - same with Spuds but its 17 for them. And we have tomorrow's game in hand. They still have loads of improvements to make if they are to challenge - or we fall off a performance cliff - can't see Pep allowing that

Very good point. In the 26 years since the Premier League was formed they haven't managed it once. No reason to expect any different next season.

City's rise has inflicted damage on all the old top four, but none more so than Liverpool. Were it not for City they'd have clinched the title in 2014 and in with a shout for this year. Liverpool were best placed to benefit from the demise of the rags, with Arsenal in decline, Chelsea up and down and Spurs being Spurs.

A sad day for them when the Sheikh came along.

From the BBc comments
Liverpool are clearly a changed team. Highly polished, highly professional. Quite scary to think what could happen next season.

Alex M, Liverpool
LOL

I think they are a keeper from being a serious threat. Allison looks the real deal and might be the one to solve a long standing problem. But Real might have got wise he's actually quite good. Squad depth an issue though.

And of course they would have won the league cup 2 years ago without City.

not a worry -they flatter to deceive - all we have to worry about next season is US. If we maintain or better what we have done this season can't see any of the supposed domestic pretenders touching us - they have neither the squad nor the coach to worry us in this seasons form or better.

Have a gut feeling we may still have to face Liverpool again this season, but this time it might be over two legs...

So what your saying Ian, is that next year could be their year?
