How many points to win the league?

Certain people will still be leaving early !! We are watching the fucking greatest ever City team in history and still they fuck off early

Why did they arrange the derby for Saturday 7th April when it was pretty obvious one or both teams would be in the quarters
Or am I missing something?

City (78 points):

Home: Brighton, Scum, Swansea, Huddersfield
Away: Stoke, Everton, Spurs, West Ham, Southampton

27 points available. The schedule really breaks kindly for City except Spurs away. If they beat Stoke and Everton they'll already be on 84 points before the derby. Either Liverpool or the scum will drop points before that match so best case for them will be either 69 (Liverpool) or 72 (scum). So after the derby (assuming City win) City will be on 87 points with 6 games left to play so they should still be up 15 with 6 games left to play.

Liverpool (60 points):
Home: Watford, Bournemouth, Stoke, Brighton
Away: Scum, Palace, Everton, West Brom, Chelsea

27 possible points available. They'll be favored in all of their matches except maybe their match at Stamford Bridge. Everton may play inspired football and get a draw though. I'd give them 83 points.

Scum (59 points):

Home: Liverpool, Swansea, West Brom, Arsenal, Watford
Away: Palace, West Ham, City, Bournemouth, Brighton

30 points possible. They'll be underdogs against Liverpool and City but the rest of their schedule shouldn't be too much of a problem for them. I can see them finishing strong and getting 24 points which puts them at 83.

I think we might already be there, liverpool already need 2 points per game to catch our current points total, and we need to lose every game, and that ignores goal difference. united have pretty much the same task, and still have to win their game in hand.

Spurs would need two miracles, winning all their games, and us losing most, or all of ours.

I’m talking about as it stands.

Now.

One game at a time.
I don't understand why you're jumping to the derby then.

Three wins, one against United, will do it if Liverpool also drop points.

Otherwise it's four wins.

Should we beat Stoke and Everton and Utd vs Liverpool ends in a draw we can win the PL vs Utd. That's the only game we need rivals to drop pts in

Funnily enough, losing to LFC would save Utd from such an embarrassing situation

so if rags and liverpool draw against each other and we go unbeaten in next 2 games a derby day win and we are champs yeah?

though if both do drop 2 points each will 7 be enough for us (85 points)

Should we and United win all our games then we can still win it against them. United Liverpool doesn't have to end in a draw.

yes we would have matched their posibble points tally but GD would be claased as irrelevant (even though it is uncatchable) with 5 games left to crown us champs so a point at spurs would be needed

better they drop points first

Nope mate, do the maths again. The maximum points the can get (with a loss to us) is 86.

They are our 3rd game, we have 78 points.

We win all 3 and we have 87 points - one point more than the maximum they can get with 9 wins and a loss to ourselves.

Utd could still win the PL on GD even if we beat them in that scenario.

edit: actually you're right
